First time grower

So I recently have fallen in hard times and I can't afford to buy pot as often as I once enjoyed, so I've decided to start growing some from some seeds my friend gave me. I'm a bit worried because this will be my first time growing some and I don't have the resources to build a set up, so I'm wondering if I can grow some at this time and still be able to bud some down the line, and if it's possible to make sure the plants grow up to be female? I would really appreciate some help and thanks to all in advance.

There's no way to make sure the plants are female if they're seeds from a friend, but you can get plenty of help on the forum down the line on telling their gender when they start showing signs. You can grow pretty much for free outside (free light, use homemade remedies to fight bugs and fertilize) for indoor you're gonna need to shell out some cash at least for lights and a small set up but you can do it rather cheaply.

yea but its way late for outdoors flowerings just around the corner and if u cant afford to buy some smoke regularly ur not gonna be able to afford an indoor system, your better off just waiting till nxt year , srry

Yeah, I kind of figured that would be a problem, thanks harryhood and Mr.Marijuana420. I guess I'll just lurk around some old post and see if I can find a DIY system for less then $100.

Crap I forgot to ask this. Is it possible to grow it outside for the time being and then have an indoor system to help it flower?

Yes! a lot of people actually grow that way. being late in the season wouldn't be an issue if you moved them to an indoor setup before the cold swooped in and froze your girls to death overnight

not a bad idea either, you can plant all your seeds outdoors, let them veg for a few months, save up some money during that time to get a flowering area setup, gently transplant, bring in and flower, cross fingers for females, you get some females and some males, take the males somewhere else back outdoors, might as well grow them you can get some hash or canna butter out of them still

That's what I'm doing. Not an ideal climate for flowering where I am so I've been growing outside for a couple months and getting ready to bring them in to flower in a few weeks. I have them in pots rather than putting them right in the ground because digging up/transplanting can be done but can cause shock.
