First Time Grower Tent Setup

This is my first attempt at growing and am not going small. Or small to some but not a first timer small. I have an idea of how much I want to grow and tent and equipment, but need some assistance in what y'all would apply and wouldn't apply. Any suggestions very much appreciated

96x48x78 iPower Tent
2x iPower 600w hps MH digital air cooled hood reflector set
1x iPower 6inch 442 cfm inline fan
1x iPower Carbon Filter
25 feet ducting combo with variable speed controller and rope hanger
1x water meter ppm tester
3x fox farm fx14000
1x iPower 3n1 test kit
1x Floraseries Performance Pack
1x iPower 6inch 240 cfm inline fan duct vent blower
1x thermopro hydrometer
1x General Hydroponics ph control kit

Is this everything I would need to complete a grow and sufficiently ventilate grow the plants? Or is there something I am missing? I know co2 helps but I don't think I'm ready for that yet. Of course I need pots but i don't know what size. I want to grow 8 plants, all indica strains and going for maximum yield. Any suggestions on what I should add or deduct from set-up? Any Advice is good advice

imo 5-7 gal fabric pots. i'd also get a bigger exhaust fan/carbon filter. 10" for that tent. 10" running at 60% is quieter and move more air than 6" fan running at 100%. 600w per is plenty but you might also want a lil more light. could get dimmable 1000w in each 4x4. HPS bulbs for flower.

you dont really need all the pH stuff if youre growing in FFOF it has oystershell lime in it to pH buffer. also wont need nutes till midway thru flowering as its a hot soil.

looks good. good luck! have fun!

Will any 10" inline fan and carbon filter fit in this tent? Or does it have to be iPower brand?Any seedbanks you would suggest? I live in a state where medicinal is legal and not recreational. I am not a cardholder

Hurricane 10" 780 cfm × Black Ops 10x24 850 cfm carbon?

Yay or nay? Would I need extra fans? Oscillating? Inline? Exhaust?

I don't know if there is a pm feature but I have a lot of newbie questions I wouldn't want to flood the forum with

That works. Black ops is a little cheaper than phresh and the carbon doesn’t last as long in my experience.

Yes you will need oscillating fans and clip fans in the tent for circulation. At least one oscillating/tower fan and a few small clip fans should be sufficient

Thanks. I will go with the phrase carbon. Will that take care of my ventilation for the grow? Will I need a dehumidifier? Anything you would add? And I'm going with 2 1000w hps/MH. Any brand you would suggest? Ballast? Timers? Will I need any different lights to start seedlings in? I've decided on Wonder Woman. In 7 gal pots. X8..I know it might seem excessive but I would like to pull 3.5 to 4lbs on grow. I know this probably isn't achievable my first grow but positive things happen to positive thinkers

yeah that should be all you need for ventilation as long as your running passive intakes on your tent. you could also run an intake fan if you want to run cool/filtered air from somewhere specific but most people just put some lighttrap and air filter over their passive intakes and call it a day. if you do get intake fan make sure intake fan is less CFM than exhaust fan to keep neg pressure in the tent. i doubt you'll need a dehumidifier. high humidity is good up until late flower and even then its okay as long as you have good air exchange/circulation/temperatures. but in which climate do you live? as far as light fixtures, I use LED so I can't really recommend a good HID set up but i think theres a subforum for that if you want to get specific. depends if you want to go cheap or expensive. gavita and hortilux come to mind for high-end. idk personally if its worth it. ideally you'd start seedlings under a t5 flourescent light, dim your light, or keep it reaaaaallly far away until plants are established.

I live in oklahoma. Is there anything else you would suggest? I'm going 2 1000w hps/MH from seed. Wonder Woman. 8 plants 7gal pots. I would like to net 3-4lbs. Would this set-up make it possible? Doubt I would achieve that being novice. But experience aside, could this set-up yield that with no special techniques?

I was reviewing your list....Personally, I’d get rid of the 3 in 1 soil sensor and get a ph pen. I use that with every feeding to get the solution to a ph between 6-6.5. You may find that your nutrients really affect water ph. I like my HM PH80 pen.

I would also look at a good timer for your 1000 watt ballasts. I’ve had great luck with Titan Controls and bad luck with cheap timers.

I’m no expert on ballasts....but I think Solis Tek is a good reliable brand. I own a Phantom 1000 watt dimmable and I’ve been pleased with it.

Good luck!

I recommend you check out Uncle Bens topping technique in the advanced marijuana growing section. One simple snip above the 2nd true node and you can get four main colas instead of one. Big improvement and simple to execute.

Also, make sure you’re using really good soil like Fox Farm Ocean Forest or something similar. No cheap crap or miracle grow.

You look like you’ve done your homework.....good luck with your grow.

Any certain 1000w lights you would suggest?

Based on my research, I bought the Blockbuster hood. It’s a square hood....which works perfectly with a 4x4 or 5x5 footprint. Someone else with more experience can likely provide better advice for your setup.

I don’t feel qualified to give advice on bulbs....haven’t read enough. I started out with Hortilix and worked my way down to the ipower, I’m sure I could do better there.

I've decided on same set-up. But only 4 plants, and 1-1000w hps/mh. Still using same size tent. Should I up the pot sizes to 10gal or keep 7gal. Would 10gal give a higher yield? And would the 1000w be enough for 4 plants in this size tent/pot size? Now am aiming for 2-3lb yield.

In theory, yes, more roots = more fruits. But there are a lot of factors in play and genetics is key.

Hopefully I will be able to keep a stable/ideal environment(ph, nutrients, temp, humidity) Will be using Wonder Woman from Nirvana Seeds. Hopefully the 10gal pots will produce

Last question guys. I am very thankful for tips and suggestions. Here is final set-up.
1x4x8 IPower tent
1x1000w iPower hps/MH digital air cooled reflector hood
1xiPower 1000w digital ballast
1xGeneral Hydroponics up/down oH
1xAcurite Thermo/Hum Meter
1xTitan Ballast Timer
1xHM Digital ph-80
1xHydroplanet 8" inline fanCfm800 w/built in controller & Carbon Filter
2xFox Farm fx14000
4x10gal fabric pots (2xWonder Woman,2xSomango XXL) both demonized from Nirvana Seeds

My final question is what light would be suggested for propagation?/seedling? And another fan for tent temperatures? Paper towel method for propagation? Or will propagation be necessary for feminized seeds?

Or could the iPower 1000 be used from seedling until final plant?
