ok so like the title says im a first time grower i seen how autoflowers work n liked the sound of it and nlooked over at my closet n it looked like a good spot to do it so here i an i orderd my buddah seeds magnum seeds in only gonna grow two plants to start with dont wanna overwhelm myself. so im going with a cfl grow im gonna use two 150w real watt cfls one is 2500k n one is 6500k. and for side and lower lighting in gonna use four 45w cfl 6500k i deed to know if this is gonna be sufficent lighting or maby even too much dont wanna fry em up. and im gonna plant them both in a three gallon pot with fox farm ocean somethin or other. i need to know if the pots are big enough for roots and if anyone has personal experience with this brand of soil. and also what should i use for a light cycle im seeing that 24/7 seems to be good for autos.and also what should i use to ventelate and keep closet cool and plants from getting too hot and how far should the lights be from the plant. oh and lastly is buying mylar for the closet a good investment does it really make that much of a diff reflecting light? and if any one has grown these specific seeds how was the yeild and what did you use for lights ext so if any one would like to help a fellow newbie grower out it would be greatly appreciated thx for taking your time to read this

Welcome to RIU.org
Your onestopshop for all matters cannabis, take a look around but I should advise you that the fabulous "Like" button, is broken, instead buried below is the equivalent, reputation button that works almost the same., so if you see or read something you like, well! you can't 'like' until it's fixed, but you can click the Rep button to show your appreciation.

I'm not gonna answer half of your questions but you might not have enough lights.. I'd look more into cfls..

2 plants in one 3 gallon pot or separate? Hopefully separate. Reflection matters, even with cfl.. but at the same time you should keep your cfls close enough to not lose a ton of light. You need to post the size of your closet etc..

Autos are simple for lighting time measurements. Just don't expect huge yields compared to regular seeds.

Honestly I'm a newb but I do know that it's not as simple as it sounds. Prepare yourself for a long bumpy road.. good luck friend and happy growing

2 plants in two seperate pots do you have any experience growing with cfl bulbs

I haven't had a successful grow to be honest. Right now I'm using cfl until my LED comes in. Just trying to share what I have learned

How far are you willing to go to ventilate your closet?if you are able to look in your roof, see if there is a cold air return running to your furnace, and an exhaust/fan into that.I would suggest using mylar film,im doing a cab grow,so every layer of sound reductions helps, same with reflectiveness.

My cousin acctually did pretty much the same thing that you are doing,he did 2 plants aswell, and his final dry weight was about 60g total per plant,or about 120 total.

and im gonna plant them both in a three gallon pot with fox farm ocean somethin or other.

OK, I'll tackle just this one part. As expressed in this thread (and apparently a million others ;)) Fox Farms Ocean Forest is a fairly "hot" mix. Apparently a new plant can suffer from too much nutrient when planted straight to FFOF. You might want to try some other soil, like an organic seedling soil, for the first month or so. Maybe in a one gallon pot, then FFOF when you go to the 3 gallon pot?

We went from Jiffy starter pellets straight to FFOF and I think our two little plants suffered for it. I believe they're over the hump now, but things coulda gone smoother if I'd known.
