first time grower but doing well but...

ok this is my first grow and i did the research before growing. but could not look ahead. u see i am growing hydro with a 25 gal rubber made tote and i didnt put a drain on it. i cut a a few holes in the lid and put in net pots and now the roots have taken over the res.. i used to just take the lid off and lower the roots into a big bowl but now the roots are too big. is is ok to just keep adding to the res or should i try and find a way to drain it. and also i was just seeing if any one has heard of a plant with 17 tops. im flowering right now. i thought it was weird that i have that many tops. but get back to me about my problem and i will also have a pic vary soon 4 for u to see my setup

you could try a hose pipe rase the tote and siphonout the nutes?
