Guys, I have just been lurking on here reading all of the great advice but now I am in need of some advice. I will be purchasing a new light today. My germinated seeds were put into the soil on January the 25th. Tomorrow will be 2 months of growing. They are in the flowering stage and I actually found out yesterday that they are both females :hump: . The strain is typically grown outdoors about 40 miles from my town. I found a couple seeds, wrapped them in a wet paper towel and started up. The pictures are not clear because I don't know how to set aperture and other settings on this particular camera. The plants are both 1' 9" tall from soil to top. They have only been on 12/12 for about 6 days. (I have white hairs all over em.) I will take better pictures when I figure this fuckin camera out. Anyways, here is what I need to know. What size light should I upgrade to? (I am using two flourescent "grow" lights from walmart. which these plants seem to like.) I didn't expect the plants to grow this fast. What nutrients should I add so I have maximum yield(I am not using any nutes right now except for the jobes fertilizer spikes.) What the hell made these things grow so fast? I appreciate your time. To look at the pictures just go to my gallery as I am a noob and don't know how to post pics yet.

Hey, Bro, nice pics, nice grow.
Go to STEALTHHYDRO.COM and look at those DUAL SPECTRUM II spiral flourrescents. They put out NO HEAT and you can put them one inch from
the top of the plant. If you decide to do it, let me know and I'll tell you the password to get a discount.

Thanks man.

I checked that out and I think I may just use compacts. Anyone have a specific brand and model number for any really good cfl's that you could maybe purchase at lowes or walmart? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Especially for the nute part. which ones do I need to start?

haha, this grow room set up looks familiar for some reason.. hahaha! well, as for the nutes, in the first stage i seem to recall that they need more nitrogen, which the jobes spikes probably helped (possible reason for such speedy growth) and then when you switch to flowering a higher percentage of P2O5 (Phosphate) and K20 (Soluble Potash)... usually a 10-15-10 mix is a decent cheap start for flowering

I'm sure a lot of professional growers would suggest you get a higher wattage HIGH PRESSURE SODIUM bulb if you have the room. They will make your plants grow like crazy if you know what you're doing. I as well as some others prefer to use CFLs. From your gallery it only looks like you have a few plants in the grow room. If that is so, keep the lights your are using now as they are giving the plant enough of the right spectrum to make it flower. But, I would add say AT LEAST 2 CFLs per plant.

Get the highest LUMEN OUTPUT ones you can get. Home Depot sells a shit load of CFLs and they have packaged deals. Here is a good example of a nice packaged deal for CFLs. SearchResults
You can even get a higher equivalent Wattage as well. These ones are 100W, you can get 150W and they are packing with lumen output. Hope this helped you out a little bit. Good Luck!!

Does anyone have a high resolution picture of a hermie? I think I may have one. I will try and post a pic sometime tomorrow. How long do I have until this man-woman rapes my beauty? Oh, I also bought a bottle of FloraNova One Part Bloom and looking to purchase a nice array of CFL's tomorrow. I am planning on buying 6 CFL's however, would it be better to focus all of them on top of the plants or mount some on the walls for the sides of the plants? Should I used more than one spectrum for flowering? If anyone has this kind of a set-up I'd gladly look in your gallery for a good example, just drop a line. Thanks everyone.

Hey, Man, I have 4 bulbs now over a 4 ft plant, 85 watt spiral CFLs, and I wish I had more. I used to do the sea of greeen and start flowering and 12/12 around the 3rd week, (hydroponic) and get one banana size bud over each plant. I'd harvest the top colas and wait another 2 or 3 or 4 weeks to get more decent buds.
The closet grow I am doing now, ( see GROW ROOM SET UP, undr R for Roseman) I'm doing 180 degrees different, I've done everything against the book, just to see what happened, and my big regret is not having more CFLS or not starting Flowering sooner like I used to do. With two bulbs I started with and then 3 bulbs, I got VERY RAPID, beyond comparison, I got SUPER Fast veg growth. Super FAST, but the FLOWERING with CFLS, well, for coke can size colas, you need mucho bulbs.
But the CFL bulbs are not that bad price wise, 85 and 100 watts can be found for $24 to $29 on the internet, depending on if you buy a case or buy singles, and the HEAT is so much less, I mean much less. Less electircity burned too.

Hey guys,

Figured some pictures and details were needed to update ya'll on my first grow. Pictures will be posted in my gallery. The tall plant is mine. She was planted on January 28th, 2007. I started flowering on March 18th, 2007. I used 2 24" Flourescent tube lights to veg and am using 6 CFL's to flower. Most of the CFL's are 42watt. I have been using FloraNova as a bloom booster which has worked quite well. I am going to stop using the nutes and just use water for the next 2 weeks as I am planning on harvesting around May 14th, 2007. Any input is greatly appreciated.

PS....The chronic plant is my buddies. He is letting me look after it. He should chime in about it once I post this.
