First time grow, T5 and CFL

Sup people, I got my closet set up how I want it for the most part. Mylar on walls roof and floor, intake and exhaust fans, Roots organics 707 for soil, buddha grow and buddha bloom for nutrients (got a little ahead of myself buying those I think, jacks classic sitting here waiting to take its place).

My only concern right now is my lighting, I bought a t5 fixture but the more I read the more I think I should have gone with straight CFLs. This is the fixture I have - http://www.htgsupply.com/Product-GrowBright-2-Foot-6-Lamp-High-Output-T5-With-Choice-of-Bulbs.asp

Main concern with lighting is that this puppy won't penetrate the canopy and I'm looking for tips on how to get this done with CFLs, I drew up this diagram since I'm too cheap to buy a camera.

That picture makes it look like there is more room than there actually is, the closet is 2 ft deep. I can't really hang CFLs from above due to the t5s bein in the way. What got me really worrying about this is I read that you need a minimum of 30K lumens to start flowering, this t5 puts out 12k I believe. So if anyone has some wicked ass ideas for squeezing in CFLs I'd love to hear them. Sorry for rambling but :eyesmoke:.

Any electricians around? The t5 fixture is 93 watts I think, and I'm kinda curious how much more i can plug into an outlet along with 2 80 mm fans and 1 6 in fan.

100_9776.jpgLook this is all I been using is a High Output t5 and its working GREAT!! Unbelievable really check it out I have one cfl 23watt

I am flowering now ITS A GIRL!!! I have a 4ft 4 bulb set up with a 3:1.. 3 bloom 1 veg. I just set up a few more cfls I added 4, 23 watt cfls 2700k for blooming. They tell me I wont get much off of it but, its the only thing I have for now. Its cheap so you get what you pay for.. But I dont have no complaints about it yet. My electric bill never changed for 2 months so far. So it might be worth it in the long run. I seen alot of people flower with t5 on youtube. Let me know how it goes.

you dont actually "need" 30 000 lumens to start flowering.
what you have is fine for that, you could try to get a cfl or 2 , between the plants, mid height or so, base down.
the cheaper ones get hotter and dont last as long (Cfls ) btw.

that 30 000 lumens comes from people obsessed with yield, whether its from need or greed.
you will get more with hps, if you are a daysmoker, you´d probably want hps.
but with some work (scrog, lst or something) you could get some good buds from that system.
and any practically free smoke is good in my book.

congrats on the girlie budtokr, thx for the input guys, im thinking about putting them into 12/12 tonight. They are from 4-6 inches tall with 3-4 leaf sets so i guess thats big enough. Maybe ill buy a camera tonight, will definately keep you updated.

Just bought a 55 watt and 2 26 watt cfls, now i just have to figure out a way to get them in around the plants
