This my first grow and so far i think I'm off to a crapy start. I planted the seed about two weeks ago. I didnt germanate the seeds just stuck them in the dirt. A few days later 3 sprouts popped up. About one week later the plants started to fall over. So i propped them up and moved the light closer to the plants (about two inches from the tops). Im using mirical grow organic soil and i had Jobes grow sticks but i dug them out (friend said not good for plants). I have a 18" plant & aquarium fluorescent light that i got from wal-mart. I would appriciate any advise as i know little to nothing about growing. O yea my plants are about three weeks old now.

Those r really small for 3 weeks

Go and get some Cool White/ Daylight 26w Cfl's at least 3 per plant, place around 1-2in from plant
also plant in their own cups
also get a fan blowing in there

Thats all u need so far

I have agree with SunnyD. the fact that your foliage is so small compared to the height of the plant means your lights needed to be much closer. The aquatic light will work, just expect each growth stage to take significantly longer. I can't emphasize the fan enough. Get a desktop fan even, something small will work- and don't point it directly at the plants. The key is to get air movement in the room to simulate a small amount of wind which the plants would have had naturally. From my own experience, this works! The breeze forces the plants to grow a stronger root system leading to a stronger stem and better equipped as an adult to support the fruit of your labor.

the fan simulates mother natures breezes, so YES make sure it blows directly on your plants. Replant then and this time bury all that stem so just the leaves are showing, this will minimize stem stretch which you already have too much of. get tubed flouros if nothing else. Stay away from gro lights or that aquarium light. They use thewrong color spectrum for proper pot growth. I am currently using 3, 2-tube flouros fixtures (at 40w per bulb)keeping my lights no more than 2" off top of plants. see that fan? it's about 3 feet away from my plants on low, so the plants should shake from the breeze.

They are cute.

Seriously though, you will need much more light. All you need to do is spend about an hour and read The GrowFAQ. That should help you get started. When people come in and say something about a small light, no fan, attach no pics, and generally don't give much information, it leads to one of three things...no replies and no help, crappy replies and no help, or to you doing some reading so we can really help you out without having to rewrite everything to you. I can tell you now though you are in the right place if you live in your own place and want to learn how to grow. Don't give up, but help us help you.
Hope to hear some more questions from you!
Good Luck!

See, everyone is already helping...RUI is the shit.
Good advice so far.

they look too small and weak,,,,maybe after the transplant place a fan directly on them....if u already have the ballast for the floro then get some tubes...but i live by my cfls to veg....

I would transplant and burry them deeper. That should also hold them up better.

o no doubt.......just go and transplant into the pot u want to finish with. and bury deeper.....more light, fan, then u should be good.

try bring the light down to about 1 inch above the plants with the aquarium bulb thay dont give of much heat but u cant get away with 1 inch if it was a hps
try a proper ganja ferts for soil try to get a two parter a plus b

the way to stop plants falling over is to use a fan to start with but you have to make sure the fan isnt blowing too hard and eventuly the plant will get sturdyer

Thanks for all your help! I placed a fan in the room like suggested. and im going to transplant the plants tomorrow. What size pot should i use? I don't have to much space (im growing in my closet) and don't want the plants too big.

I transplanted my plants. One of them didn't make it it was attacked and eatin by my evil pot eating cat. I also added a compact fluorescent light i found in one of my closets. Also first set of leaves are starting to wilt, could this be from the grow sticks i put in? Well here are some new pics let me know what you think.

It could be from the grow sticks or over watering and so on. I wouldnt worry about it too much if it spreads to the other leaves then you have a prob. They look good i may have burried them a little deeper but other than that they look good.

My babys leaves are starting droop! I just transplanted them and there leaves started to drooping. could it be from over watering the soil before transplanting them? How can i fix it?

Your droop could be stress...
First things first, do not worry so much. Either they will make it or they won't, but you shouldn't worry too much. It might lead to over-caring for them. Leave the little guys alone and let them adjust a little. You can make sure they have the best environment for growth now, temp, humidity, nice little breeze, lots of light, etc...but don't touch them or the soil for a day or two. After that reassess and continue, then leave them alone...rinse and repeat.
Good Luck!
