First Time Grow, 2 150w hps for veg

Hey guys,

I'll be vegging with two 150 watt sunsystem hps lights. I want to switch to a 600w hps for flowering. About one week ago i planted multiple seeds that came in a decent mid grade bad of mine. Im using fox farm ocean forest for veg with maybe some other nutrients later on. I have 18 solo red cups hoping at least half are female. 8 have poked through, could really get a good shot but here is a picture of week 1. If you have any advice of questions please feel free.

Man... Just from looking - I would say you have the light wayy to close~! Feel the cups, are they warm!? The soil, is it warm?

Idk! 150w... Maybe not, but damn I barely keep 150w cfl that close!

My 150w hps werent throwing off much heat at all, they kept the plants 75 degrees.

I got a good deal on a 600w mh/hps so ive currently switched my set-up. Only 7 of the 18 survived strong lol and ive aquired a clone of blue cheese from one of my buddies.

Here are a few pictures of my plants from last year, i grew outdoors, and used the same batch of seeds i have used on this one. One of the plants turned pink, never seen this before, what strain could this have been? any ideas?

Damn bro beautiful im on my first grow started with some BS 2 32w CFL lol got a tent n a 400w HPS / MH sun system 2 and now got 3 bagseed out mid flowering and 3 blue dreams im doing 12/12 from seed !! but the outdoor one i have no idea but i bet it was lovely

Get some conversion Metal hallide bulbs if at all possible for vegging(if you don't have a digital ballast)
would be more beneficial in the long run imo.

i have a 600w mh/hps switchable digital ballast i just got, im using the mh for veg and when im ready for 12/12 ill use the hps. In a week or so im going to transplant into 5gal buckets, half oceanforest half happy frog. already have all the buckets mad up with soil in them waiting.
