Hey everyone,

I am so glad to be back. I tried my first grow on here 6 years ago in my university dorm closet and ended up with a few hermaphrodites lol.

I want revenge!!!

Considering we can grow 4 plats in Canada I bought myself a 2x4 tent and outfitted it with everything needed to produce some killer bud.

I have 2 x 400w Cobb Cree Full spectrum led lights

I will be using 5 gallon felt pots with Fox Farms Ocean Forest x Perlite Mix... about 20-25% perlite.

I Have ordered a mixed auto pack from True North Seeds but it has been over 20days and still have not even shipped them. So as I am in Vancouver I could drive to Crop King Seeds and buy them from the headquarters at quite a discount. (10 seeds for 60$ cash only) I went with a 5 packs of both White Widow and Early Miss Autos.

I had not heard good things about Crop King Seeds germination rate so as I was hoping for 4 plants and I germinated 7 seeds one which was very pale and did not have any hope for it.

All 7 germinated and the biggest and fastest was the pale seed...WTF?

Put two of each strain in the four 5 gallon pots and the last three seeds went into 1 gallon plastic pot.

OK thats my grow information here come the questions.

As I have seven sprout but only room for my 4x5 gallon pots I put the last three seeds into a 1 gallon pot each...Should I just ditch these 3 guys or try to grow them in the 1 gallon pots and experiment with a few techniques such as lollipoping to just try to grow one main cola? Will these three little guys detract from my main 4?

My plan is to not feed for the first 3-4 weeks as FFOF is quite hot and rich and then slowly start to add light nuts. I can not seem to find any info on feeding autos in soil (especially with FFOF).

I was given a set of nutrients with the purchase of my grow set up but they are a new company and there are no reviews. Honestly I have no idea what any of the ingredients mean or amounts...So if anyone knows those aspects I have included a link to them... please let me know if you think its a ok product of invest in some FF Nutrients. growindo/collections/indo-nutrients

Or as others have mentioned you can just use top dressing with more FFOF as you progress.

How much water should be given to each 5gallon fabric pot? Its my first time with the fabric pots so when i pre soaked the pots I was unsure if they were fully saturated. do you always water until there is runoff? (not for seedling but for future)

Sorry about the huge post but I am so excited lol. Any and all help would be amazing. Thank you in advance and I look forward to posting the results as we go.

Usually FFOF can sustain a plant for about a month. Be wary of using too much nitrogen though. Autos are super finicky about nitrogen. Never heard of the brand indo. If you do choose to use FF nutes, Do NOT follow there nutrient guide. Alot of people have had problems with FF nutes due to it being concentrated. Go with 1/2 the recommended amount. If you haven't had experience with them, go with 1/4 the amount. Good luck mate. Like your setup!:blsmoke:

Thanx for the feedback, I think I may get the ff and try the indo on one of the plant and compare results.

Nice setup. Looks a lot like mine but much, much neater. Good luck on your grow! Back in uni some people on the same floor as me found a crawlspace between floors and tried growing pot in it, lol good times.

Regarding your plants in 1L pots, it's up to you, I don't know how big autos get but I think my 2x4 is crowded with just 3 plants. You might just want to kill the weakest ones in a week. I think you can grow them just fine in 1 gal though. My last grow was in 1.7 gal pots with only minor issues from needing frequent watering. imo they won't detract from the growth of the other plants because you have lots of light, as long as they're not shading the other plants you should be good.

Also, thanks for the pics. I was just trying to decide whether to switch to 5 or 7 gallon pots because the 1.7 aren't cutting it now that I'm training the plants, and it looks like 7 gallon pots will be way too big for a 2x4 space. Interested in knowing how those felt pots work out for you, especially in the seedling stage, so make sure to keep us updated.

The water here is practically natural spring water. I tested the ph at 8.2 however I feel likes that's high and will have to buy some more buffer to calibrate to be sure
Buy a roll of cheap litmus paper. It never lies or needs calibration. I would suspect high TDS but if other plants grow with it cannabis will too.

So far I am liking the pots and size. I do think the 7s would be much tighter and not leave much room for any equipment you may need in there .

I do find it kind of hard to gage how wet the seeds are as i have only done a pre soak when planted and then a light watering this morning as it was looking needed and occasional misting. The pots are feeling light but I am not sure if I should do a full water or just keep it light as needed for a few more days.

All seven ladies are out and seem quite happy at day 3

Everything has been going amazing but as I was giving them live today I saw what looked like a few hairs on two of them .I then saw a few white specks and was like shit mites. I think I am crazy lol. They all seem happy and have not seen any damage to leafs. There is one guy who is quite long at almost 6cm. My lights are at about 19inces should I lower?[[/ATTACH]

Day 7 so here is a little one week photo update of the seven. All seem to be doing well so far so I have kept them all.

The ladies in the smaller pot seem to be a tinny but taller and bigger so far.

Agree that they look good, they look so tiny in those big pots. I'm going to try germinating in the final pot next time to see if it makes a difference or not. The hardest part about growing things is waiting, personally I try not to do anything between feedings, that way there are less chances to mess with them.

I'd let them grow into the light, no chance of burning them accidentally while they're small.

My canopy is about 30" away from my plants right now, about a week from switching to 12/12 and hopefully they will finish about 16" away without moving the light (400w at the wall). This is my first time trying this and they are definitely growing slower than when I kept the lights close and moved them up. For me a few days extra veg time doesn't matter.

I just found this on the bottom of the leafed of one of the ladies. I don't have a good feeling about it. She is one of the bigger ones. It seems like the little white spots on the top have grown on the other lady too however I have not seen any tiny black dots.

The darking looks more like a purp trait . It happens with plants as either the dad’s or moms traits come into play.

I was curious if it was mold so I gave it a soft wipe with a q tip and nothing so I am hoping you are right lol

Your plants will be fine on FFOF by itself . It actually “ hardens ” the plant by letting it become acclimated to it . So no extra Nutes are necessary. ( at least until week 2 of flower )

As stated... if your tap water is way out of wack then you may need to adjust ph.
FFOF is prebuffered at 6.3 , so even tap water at 7.0 is fine.

Autos hate overfeed and overwatering.... keep that in mind .
They need very little water in the beginning, just a little around stalk base.
( NOT the whole container ) - at this time. You want the rooting to “ seek “ water and spread out in medium. Autos love light .... 18/6 ... 20/4 will take the most advantage to get the short veg stage to grow as big as possible before preflower ( transition ) . That is why you don’t need any problems during this first stage .... it will play into flower result at end.

Look into LST for training as they grow out to get the most out of them.

I for sure gave them too much water last feeding as I gave the whole bucket about 1.5 liters but all from the edges of pot so I dont think it did too much harm and let them dry out fully before next feeding.

Is there a good or approximate amount to feed during early weeks with autos in soil... 500mls every two days...250mls...or should i get a soil moisture reader? as i think it is too early to tell by feel of pot as i am not watering whole thing. I have now been watering once every two days with about 300mls about 3-4 inches from plant. Would you still spray lightly closer to plant and rest of top soil or just let the rest be dry.

I have also been running 24hour light as it seemed like less opportunity for error. Are their benefits of 18-6 or 20-4 over 24 hour light for autos.

I did see a tiny bit of green (algie or mold) looked like it was growing in one of my small plastic pots... I could only see a little green on some of the perlite... IDK if it is a issue or just be careful not to over water... That plant is by far the biggest at this point.

So I tried testing the ph again and tap water was at 8.5 still feel like thats high so buying some litmus papers to test to be sure.

I am for sure going to be doing some LST on all of them however i was kinda thinking it could be cool to experiment with lollipoping the small one gallon pots and seeing if I can just get one main cola off of them because there will not be much room once I LST the 4x5 gallon pots. Would you guys experiment like that or just trash the three small 1 gallon pots(trash I mean throw on balcony and just hope for best lmao)

They are all looking great so far but there is one that looks a little mutated could have been the extra water.

Ill post update pictures in a few hours.

This is an early miss plant that is still a couple weeks from finish but she is looking good. Definitely had the other seed I popped at the same time mutate so dont have any current pics of her. She is ugly and stunted but she's gonna make some bud so it's okay. Their genetics definitely seem a little wonky from reading other threads as well as my experience. Went with fastbuds green crack for the next
