First time cloning, are they dying?

Cloning NL in peat pellets in shallow RO water, misting leaves a few times a day.
They all have similar dark brown patches both under the leaves and on top of some of them, particularly the younger shoots. I didn't dip the clones in any solution before I put them in because I don't have any. I will get some when I can but I'm about to switch the clones' "mother" to budding so I need to make sure at least one of these clones survives so I can keep a plant growing after harvest of the adult one, and from what I hear it's not a good idea to take cuttings while in budding.
So these brown areas, are the clones dying or should I just wait a bit longer?
I took the cuttings just over a week ago.

Are they in a cloning station??? Pellets look Way too wet

I was thinking maybe too wet but because I'm at work 9 hours a day I don't want to let them dry out when I'm not able to mist the leaves, and I'm in a dry climate so they would dry out pretty quickly. I'll see if I can change things a bit later. They're not in a cloning station just sitting in a shallow tray with no cover

Just be patient. IMO the clone looks fine. If they haven't died yet you'll probably get roots. Maybe another week... It took me like 14 - 20 days the first couple of times I did it. Then I made an aero cloner. It's literally set and forget. Check after a week and there are roots.

Lol, I just cloned some tomatoes to make sure I was dialed in and got roots in 4 days. I wouldn't have believed it if I didn't see it. They aren't ready to transfer that'll probably be another few days. One of the times I can say I impressed myself, haha.

Thanks man, I'll definitely be making something more appropriate next time I take cuttings, I'll look into this "aero cloner" thing :)

Check out stinkbuds thread and just do a google search for "Aero Cloner". There is a little bit of a learning curve but this is the only way that I have found works for me. Especially since I travel for work for a week at time.

It would also help if you put a ziplock bag over them to help keep up the humidity and prevent them from drying out while you're at work. I just rooted four chemdawgs with no cloning gel in happy frog soil it took about 20 days.

Thanks guys, ziplock bag is a nice idea I will do that, should I take the excess water out of the tray and then put the bags over the top?
