First set up build! What do you think, and some ?s

Let me know what you think? This is my first attempt at what I began as a Ebb & Flow system (Flood and Drain), but turned into a Drip System. I'm happy with results. I basically just got to putting things together and ended up with this. My question would be the water flow and how much. There is one pic of water flow without drip attachment connected, so I do have control over water flow! Also the water pump had a High/Low switch as well! I do have timer also for pump. This is low setting in pic. I have 6 inch bubbling stone in a 10 gallon storage tub under neath. Buckets, (I have 6, but only 2 shown). Actually I'm sticking to these two for first try! The median is Lava Rocks, and starting out with rock wool cubes for seeds in the rocks. Basically the concept is water flows through the drip emitters from the pump. Drain down to bottom and drains back into reservoir to be circulated again. These are two piece buckets. One has hole in bottom of side for drain, the other sits inside of this bucket with hole in its bottom. Please give me your opinions, problems you may see now or in the future! Just let me know what you think! This isnt where I am setting it up, just where I constructed it (Hence, the dark walls behind set up)Thanks

I think they do a similar set up on this vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwAlTOOE7fk

Thanks pdillo! The black buckets in the beginning of vid, is what I have. I am using the exact method also. Only I am confused on watering schedules tho and how much! Like for instance, Run a drip constantly, or the steady stream, like in picture. On a 15 minute, every 2 hours, schedule. (That was a for instance) I dont have a clue to where to begin with the watering. Also what is this exact method called, so I can do research on net? Thanks guys for the help. I'm good with soil, but I thought I would see what hydro was all about.

Well, Thanks for advise! LOL Anyhow I went with a constant drip, offset from the plants about 1 1/2 inches! I transplanted seedlings from MG soil to hydro method 3 days ago due to wrong feeding jug mishap! I grabbed flower nute jug(FULL STRENGTH MIXTURE), instead of just water, and about killed them. I flushed the soil and seedlings didnt look better, and went to getting worse! So I transplanted them in new build! I would like to say. I am impressed with how this system works! Not my particular system, the Hydro system in general! I wish I would of taken pics before. I didnt because who knew a hydro system could bring a plant back so fast and healthy! Then in the mix of things. I must have gotten a seed in my whole scheme of things. This little seedling popped up out nowhere! Can I take it out now and put it in its own bucket? Should I wait a few days for a stronger root? Thanks for any help! Heres a couple of pics of seedlings that returned from near death!

Well, it has been a week. One did very well, and the other took a turn for the worse! So you get the pic of the rather healthier one! Hydroponic growing is hard to get right. When you do tho! The aggravation seem worth it!

hey reggae, your pitty is one of the nicest looking ive seen.

rickybudz, good job, that is some rapid growth in a short period, once you get your system dialled in, id hope to see some good yields man, ill check in again see how your going.

Just a few more pics.... You can see where I was having problems dialing in on nutes. I think I have done OK so far with them! One picture shows the stem. I would compare it to, say a little fatter then a pic pen. There are 13 nodes as this minute! Notice, I say this minute! LOL I may just start a new thread in the Grow Log area! This thread was just to get things right and work through my problems! Problems are pretty much at a minimal. When I do start a new thread. I will post link in this thread for those of you who are interested! Thanks guys! :)
