First run with quantum boards, slightly early harvest?

As the saying here goes,,, give them another week... lol And don't worry they won't go too far... But they're your plants. In the end it's up to you. They look nice by the way.

First you definitely won’t over do it, you really don’t need to be worried. Your plants are definitely looking more mature.

The trichomes still show plenty of clear in them so there is no worry about going to far, it’s really almost impossible to over ripen a plant unless you are trying.

Personally I’d still be looking at 7-10 days I think. Specifically that one plant that was farther behind. Watering normally with just plain water at this point won’t hurt them as they finish up.

Thank you!

ps: Do you think I'll gain very much in terms of yield, to make it worth waiting? the thing is I had overwatered some of the plants (many were in #10 pots, where others were in 7's, and (surprise...) when the latter was ready to water, the former weren't and rather than do 2 water cycles, the 10's got overwatered. I realized it at the time but mistakenly thought they were mature enough to handle it, (wrong!), so the point being that those ones have damaged root systems now and are even less productive with water transpiration.) I wonder how much it will help by keeping them going.

At this point it’s not as much about yield as it is about letting it ripen for quality. The last plant that was farther behind might still be putting on yield.

Right on. Thanks for the help!

pps: do you subscribe to the practice of letting them sit in darkness for a CPL days before take down?

Nice plants man!

id definitely wait atleast 10 days maybe even go the full 14 day flush and your bud would be better off for it imo :)

have a nice day!

Do you think I'd stand to gain very much, yieldwise? Thing is I'm kinda in a time crunch

I have given darkness a try, and I totally get the concept behind it. I never found any noticeable difference that I could perceive with my eyes or by smoking it. It’s totally possible there is a minor difference in THC content when done, but I would need to have the material tested to tell. Lots of people just try to harvest before the lights come on rather then waiting days with the plants in the dark.

I'm grateful for everybody's input. I would have jumped the gun if left to my own devices. Too anxious. But now they're rounding out nicely, filling in here and there and frosting up better too. Very much stoked.

Thank you!!

Change in buds?

Hoping I did my last water yesterday, trying to let them run out their nutes. Most are fading but a CPL, oddly, are a bit darker. What's concerning me atm however is that quite a few/many plants buds are taking on this different look, almost like small, thick petals are forming, and in places are starting to look like seed sacs, (I think), but I don't see how is possible, they were all females and I didn't see any herming at all. Is this right? I don't recall ever seeing anything like it. Also, and maybe it's just allergies but I'd swear there was less dank smell in the room. Is this possible? I really want to take them down but I just watered/flushed and I want them to dry.

Thanks!

You can post a picture of the weird growth and maybe we can answer what that is. The bracts are supposed to get fat and swollen, so unless they have actual seeds in them they are fine.

If you struggle to find white pistols and the buds have an olive brown type of frosty shine, they are done. Other plants will reach this point first, but unless you are going to stagger harvest then just wait till the rest catch up. This can be two weeks with no real issue.. but what you must keep checking is that the more mature plants with fan/sugar leaves beginning to die off. Check daily for any rot developing in these areas were the dying leaves enter the bud. If you see it, cut it out the rot, and a good half inch each side of it, bin it. This can mean a top section of bud is ok but now no longer on the plant, you can ofc dry this to keep, but dry it separate in case rot is in it, check it carefully and bin it if you see signs. Not to alarm you about rot but it is something you will see from time to time in this situation and some quick checks will limit loss.

I have run quantum 304’s since they first came out and they definitely can cause earlier chop time, here is plant ( green crack), that is ready at day 54. 1st photo comes from main cola .

Calyxs' swell when they are finishing. They will look like a full seed pod because that is where seeds are made. It is nothing to worry about. They are just doing their thing.

Cool!
I want to pull the plug on them tonight, well not have lights come back on again tomorrow I mean, and pull next day. Many still have water in the pots. I'd prefer not to wait until they dry out. That only matters as far as the plant retaining a little more moisture, right?
Good job! You can let them pull the remaining water. But it doesn't matter. Cut away my friend. We don't wait for the soil to dry out, outside. You don't have to inside either. Congratulations on a nice crop.
