first r.d.w.c soon. is brass fittings toxic?

As the title says. I have buildt a r.d.w.c, but I had to use brass fittings. They have corroded a little, creating a blue/green layer which can be washed of f. Is it toxic for plants? The dealer says it does not contain zinc.

No metal other than stainless steel should ever be used in a hydro system.

could use plastic and silicone

Brass contains copper, and copper can be toxic to plants. Go stainless or preferably food grade plastics/stainless steel.
