First Post - Second Grow

Well, I figured now would be as good of a time as any to introduce myself as I am waiting on the "express shipping" from Hemp Depot to sunny Cali. I just completed my first grow and was not very happy with the results. I used an ebb/flow setup with a 20gal res and GH 3 part using cal mag, liquid karma, and overdrive under a single 600w HPS and using a MH conversion bulb to veg for 14 days from clone. The clones were supposedly Hindu Kush, OG Kush, and some Cali O. All the clones were practically given to me by a local club and I question their lineage but I think my biggest problem was salt buildup because the buds were very crisp and dry rather than dense and sticky. Also the stems never got very thick, I didn't know what I was doing and had 9 plants on a 3x3 tray in Grodan delta cubes. It was not a total loss and allowed me to learn and plan my next grow.

Which brings me to what I'm really excited about. I have O.G. Kush x Blue Satellite #2.2 from Spice of Life and Willie Nelson from Reeferman (its not on the 2008 catalog so I figured what the hell). I should also be getting clones of J26, Trainwreck, and Purple Star. My new veg setup is a SunLeaves Pioneer VIII (4ft 8 bulb HO T5(is there a more secure way to hang this thing?)) and I am still planning to flower under the HPS. My veg area is 3x4x4 to be and my flower area 4x4x8. I have scrapped the hydroponics setup in favor of pots an soil. I will certainly be hanging on to all the hydro equipment for when I get a larger space. I have access to quite a few hydro shops and after a lot of debate I'm using Canna BioTerra Pro soil and since I can't find their seedling soil I'll use Light Warrior for that purpose. Nutes are gonna be the full Canna Terra line (Vega, Flores, Rhizotnoic, Cannazym, PK13/14, Boost) as well as Cal Mag Plus, Liquid Karma, Sweet, Purple Maxx, BushMaster, and I was wondering if I can use Overdrive in soil? My good friend also has a similar setup being run for his first grow using Canna's oraganic Bio line. I'm planning on popping the seeds in wet paper towels in a ziploc freezer bag on top of a seedling heat mat. This was suggested to me in favor of starting the seeds directly in Rapid Rooter plug tray on heat mat. I was then planning to transplant the seeds with taproot down in to the rapid rooter plugs and keep them over the heat mat until I have roots reaching out of the plug. They then have 3 transplants ahead of them up to 5gal rose pots. I am hoping for much better quality and comparable yields to the hydro grow. Pics pending the postal service.

Well it certainly sounds like you have everything under control. The only thing I'd question is all those different types of nutrients...I'm just not convinced that having 12 different brands is gonna be any better than having 3 of the stuff you actually need. That being said, I'm no expert, so I definitely could be wrong. Good luck though! sounds like you're geared up for an awesome grow
