Hey everyone been readin on the forums here and there the past couple months getting ready for my first grow here in central fl area weather has been extra warm this winter. I am planning on putting a couple of seeds i got from some baggies together and maybe ordering some off one of the sites everyone here has put a good word in but I have a question about outdoor water supply. I plan on growing not too far from my home bout 150 200 feet and was wondering whether it was worth the hassle of putting together a long hose from my house to the spot or just using a fresh water stream that will be no more than 50 feet from the plant. I am kind of worried about the water it will be recieving because I am planning on visiting it 3 times a week at most so would having a bucket close by and using the water from the mini stream be ok or should i invest on that hose? Hope to join class 09 this year get my first purty lil plant up.

Hard to say.... I'm thinking the freshwater stream sounds like the better way to go. No sense having a hose lead right back to your house ;)

yea that sounds good its got fish so if its good for the fish should be good for my babies wish me luck im heading to the store this week to start stocking up on supplies make sure i have everything i need and hide it in some bushes.

Another question I will probably have about 10 15 plants at most outside would it be beneficial to keep them in the 5 gallon cont. or transplant them into the ground after about a month? It just seems like a hassle to dig up 15 holes in the ground but I also dont want to hinder the growth.

Well I'm certainly not an expert on outdoor growing (I grow indoor) but I will say the water and soil in FL suck ass! Full of salt.... at least near the coast and I believe all of the soil here is loaded with lime stone. You may just be better off just growing them in the buckets with store bought soil. I think most people that do this still dig the holes and put the buckets in the holes.

It might be easier to grow in 5gal buckets buried just in case you need to tear down quickly. I'm thinking between the rain and the stream, you should have a good water supply that doesnt hook up to the side of your house. :hump:

yea soil cant be that bad here im more in the orlando area so woods are all pretty green on this side but are their special containers i can bury the plants in or are the black plastic ones from home depot good enough (5gal).

The positives I see in burying it is just less visibilty but my grow site is pretty decently hidden it would just be a plus to bury it another 1ft in the ground

Hi - I'm growing White Lady, Northern Lights and Blueberry in my greenhouse and the plants are doing great (topped and still 12 feet tall). I'm located at 40 degrees north (Colorado, USA) and have been light dep'ing for the past five weeks (10 Aug 15). I'm doing so by putting up tarps two hours before sunset and taking off 45 minutes after sunset so the plants are getting approx 11 hours of light. The flowering stage is coming along nicely. My question, the 12/12 light cycle takes place 27 Sept 15. Can I stop putting up the black-out tarps at that time or will it screw the plants up due to civil twilight / civil daylight (i.e. will the plant go into a state of flux or will it adjust and continue in the flowering stage)? Last year my plants started flowering approx 20 Sep before the actual autumn equinox. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Hey if the stream is running and it's not at all salty that would be the way to go .....you don't want a hose running to your spot there's people who look for exactly that and if your guna use buckets to water or grow in just remember to keep them outta sight as best as possible to not draw unwanted attention .....if you have the resources to plant in 5gallon buckets with good soil and burry them I think that would be the way to go IMO ....good luck to you happy growing
