First grow

  • This is my first grow im just using a cfl right now. Im doing start to finish 12/12. Was just wondering how it looks and when i should add nutes and what nutes to use(on a very tight budget). the plant is 1 week old now. only have it under 1 23w cfl right now

As finances permit, keep squeezing more lights onto it.
MG all purpose ferts are working for me, as well as MG moisture control soil.
Without details it's hard to say, but general rule of thumb, you shouldn't plan on feeding for at least first 2 1/2 weeks.
You can go to Lowe's, and get some nutes from the seed department, it comes in a little envelope, made by Burpee. It is a 0-15-11.
When you get a few weeks into flowering, you can add this to the MG, along with some Unsulphured molasses.
This worked good for my last grow.

What kind of soil? Looks like you should add some perlite when you transplant to a bigger pot. It looks pretty pale but, i'd probably hold off feeding her till it gets a little older. Your soil looks very wet. I'd go a little less when watering it's only a baby and doesn't require much for water or nutes at this point. Good luck!

Thanks, would you recommend getting a bigger 65w or getting a few more 23w? and i have some bone meal too is that good for once it starts flowering?

I like sticking with smaller bulbs, can fully surround the plant that way.Just remember to keep the pricks in the 1-3 inch mark from the plant, closer the better.

would 4 23w cfl's be enough i would have 2 over head and then 2 on the sides. im probably going to add another plant with this one also so would the 4 cfl's be enough for 2 plants?

Usualy the rule of thumb is 100 watts minimum for one plant and then 50 extra watts for each extra plant. However more is always better.I am sure that would work for veg, but your going to wanna up it way up come flower.

I got some more lights now. I have a 42w 2 23w and 2 13w on 2 plants right now. I might replace the 13w with 23w lights if i can control the heat but as of now is this enough light?
