It should flower when you switch to 12/12 - whenever you want.

hmmm, maybe you should tell the person who told you to cut the tips off the leaves to be a bit clearer with their advice.
If you remove the "growing tip" ... that is the top of the plant, or the ends of branches, your plant will become bushier.
Cutting each leaf tip just ends up with a weird looking plant with less leaf area to act as solar panels.
You may have been given sound advice but just heard it wrong

Start the 12/12 at a time that suits yourself - having th elights on at a time when you would be wanting to play with your girlz is always a good idea.
My lights come on at mid-day and go off at midnight - that way, I can play with the plants in the afternoon or evening.

well see here is the [rpb i use an aerogarden and it has a builtin light timer stays on for 16 and off for 8 so how can i work that out??

I'd try to open up the unit and rewire to bypass the timer, then use a stand-alone timer.
