First Grow

I am looking to start growing my own and have not yet decided if i want to piece my own grow tent together, or buy a complete kit at all at once. I have been considering purchasing this: http://buyagrowbox.com/poptent.html or the 600 watt version offered on that same sight. Was just wondering what some people opinions are, and if im wasting my money on the complete kits and it would be cheaper buying each thing separate and piecing a system together.

TOTALLY cheaper to buy your own homie! $799 is WAY too much for that kit, you are paying extra just cause it all comes in one box. these kits are convenient but if you are taking the time to start growing then take the time to get the best for the least!! 250 bucks should be more than enough to get an amazing 600 watt ballast AND hood/light. so minus that from the 800 dollar kit (i'm sure more than that if you got it with the 600 watt ballast) you are spending 550 bucks on a closet frame, 2 computer fans, some ventilation material, and some basic cheap grow shit....the more i look at this the more i hate it....they give you nutes for a hydro grow but this kit is for a soil grow... dont get ripped man!

You could do more with the same amount of cash.

5x5 tent <$200 with a 1000w switchable system<$350, Ventilation <$250, planters and media or DWC, and those same nutrients is about $900 but you get a bigger tent a bunch more light. I really recommend shopping around.

Check out plantlightinghydroponics.com, igrowhydro.com, and gchydro.com aka bettergrowhydro.com (bghydro.com). Search for "mylar tent" on Ebay to get some of the best prices on a tent.

That's an alright setup also. I think you could take it a step down with the reflector and go with the Cool Sun 6".

I like Plantlightinghydroponics.com so I think you're on the right track. If it fits your budget then go for it. You'll be able to grow with it but I still think you could save... maybe $100 adding it all together on your own. If it is worth it to you to just get it all put together then I think you found a good match.

i measured my grow area today and there isnt a chance that my grow size will be bigger then 2.5 X 4. Do you think a 600 watt light is still necessary of would a 400 do just fine.
