first grow

hi all , im 8 weeks into my grow in cupboard 600w hps 2 pot with resovoire system, started from unknown seed.
i cut my light from 18/6 to 12/12 on the 22/ aug it has now been 2 weeks and 1 day , should i be seeing pistol by now ??
the tips seem to be fattening a little but still no white hair as yet . im running out of room.

also how can i tell if it is sativa or indica strain .

Oh yeah man; you've got pistils in that 3rd pic! BTW, welcome to RIU!! The plants look awesome and they are pure sativa for sure. Yep, you're gonna run out of room for sure, LOL.

def sativa dominant strain...not a great strain to be growin indoors...with the height factor...loooong bud times...13+ weeks to flower...

thanks man . its my first grow i should of turned em sooner for sure, i have even started tying them down in places

cheers , when you say 13 + weeks is that from seedling to ready to cultivate or just the flowering stage ?

Welcome to RIU.
Your gonna run out of heigth so prepare for it.
What I did was take a extension curtain rod and place it under tall ass branches (they will get tall) aand then tie them down to rod. In just a few hrs the buds will turn towards the lights.

This is my deisel,(now 3.5 weeks from harvest}. You can see I lst the top cola (bar removed once cola was trained and tied to main stem.

This was her 14 days of 12/12

thats a beauty i turned my lights to 12/12 15 days ago and im barely seeing pistils.they look more like the tips of newly forming leaves not white hairs

I veged for 11 weeks and I take cuts for clones at 9 weeks. Thats why she flowered so fast. Maturity is the key.

wow 11 weeks of veg , i can see by the plant that you must have a good size room to grow in , im fast running out of room hehe i tied some branches down yesterday .will go have a look and post a couple of more pics.
also my cupboard has 2 key holes old style can see right through em , would ambient room light seeping through the keyholes stop them from turning ?
also i have heard that you can turn the light of for 36 hrs to speed up the turning process is this true .cheers

You don't want any light but a green light on plants. Thats a small amount on your ladies, I really don't know if that will hurt or not?
I have tryed 36 hrs 24 and There is no difference in my studies. I have tryed several strains and no speeding up.
I have found out though the longer you veg the quicker they flower.
