weak stems and flueresents...? this is my first grow and i am using 3 65W hanging fluers, and a 65 W fluerescent work light, i have ordered a HPS 400W in the mail, but will the fluers work fine for veg.?

no you have weak stems because your plants need more lumens, use 3# 26watt COMPACT florescent bulbs (they use less energy and put out more light than a regular florescent). just so you know, you cant operate a high pressure sodium bulb without a HPS ballast and an HPS reflector which can be a little more than expensive so if you need a cheaper way to grow just ask me n ill tell you how i grow without all that stuff.

well, iv got compact florescents and a compact flor. work light which seems to work quite well, also the hps light i ordered with ballast but shit i forgot to get a reflector. thanx. how many lumens does each plant need? does it matter on thier size or numbers?

They are streching bad, move your light closer. That should help.

They are stretched way out dude get those lights within 1 or 2 inches and they will start to bush outward and not upward... Good luck

ahhhh shit gonna go move the lights a whole lot closer, iv heard that repotting & burying the stem up to the leaves can stabalize the plant. is this a good option or could it damage the plant?

you can do that but i'd wait a week then bury it and leave like an inch or so between the the dirt and those first leaves

I don't think I would do that, I would just pray for my HPS and get tho's lights err plants as close as u can....

Shouldn't damage the plant, just don't overdo it with the water.

You can re pot and burry up to the first set of round leaves, I did when that happened to me and my girls are looking just fine now! 2 weeks away from flowering

If your plant has stretched and you bury it close to the first set of "fake" leaves it won't have any ill affects just don't go to far or you might have problems with the root rot... It will help strengthen the main stem!!!
