Alreet? so this is my first proper solo grow. Got a seed from a friend, labelled feminised special queen. Well she's 2 weeks into flowering and the buds are looking pretty odd if you ask me. The buds look like balls, is it a male? I did think the 'balls' of a male plant were elsewhere to the flowers? Cheers for any help guys

Will do when i' m with it. Thought I may aswel start the thread now because it may be a simple trait of the strain. Any one grown one before?

If it came from feminized stock id say it is a hermi. Cut a clone and the clone should be fine. pick balls and let it grow or trash it after you get a clone.

If you cut a clone from a hermie, the clone will be genetically identical to the doner plant and a hermie as well.

From your description it sounds like a male plant but a pic would tell the tale.
Do you see any white hairs?

Long enough to see a hermi mom's clone grow fine with no problem time after time. But that is why i stopped getting feminized seeds. Im into landrace sativas now.

2 weeks in you should see white hairs and bud formation and no watermelons. I ran fem seeds twice and had hermie on 5th and 6th nodes both times. I rather run clones or reg seed. If you have none of the hairs and all the balls not looking good. Don't clone hermi traits if possible.

let me be clear... I dont recommend cloning hermi plants but sometimes depending on financial and geographical location you dont have any better options. This was something that worked for me and it got me through to better times.
Now a pic of his plant may just show that it is all male... or he has a better option and can start from new. Either way I know there is greener horizons for him if he learns and sticks with it.

I suspect that the plant you cloned was not a genetic hermaphrodite.. but rather a stressed female that popped
nanners with female pollen... I have done the same thing as you, hoping the hermie would go away... didn't work for me.. glad it did for you!

For me I take no chance hermies genetic or stress related go to the wood chipper. But again that's just me

Alright then fellas. Looking at it now it looks definitely male. Not a shed of female in there. On the bright side I've got more space for my others. Should be a picture with this post, what's your opinions?

Those are male flowers and you better get rid of it right away, those balls are close to opening into flowers.

Yeah it was exterminated before I even posted the picture. I guess somebody's gotta get that 0.01% chance of a dud feminised seed Right? Kinda gutted because it was my only special queen. down to 3 wwxbb and 2 Afghan. Maybe try again next time.

I would have moved it to a different area, let it flower and made some cross breeds.. free seeds!!
But that's just me..
That's definitely a male ^^^^ what he said ^^^^ I actually get a big smile when I get a male, if it's stinky and shows some frost it's a keeper :)

Due to space restrictions I am unable to delth into some areas of cultivation, maybe one day perhaps. So you would have an area specifically for harvesting seeds?
I would trim the male back to two tops. Throw it in the spare bedroom as a house plant under a 85 watt cfl..
Pollinate a couple lower buds in the flower tent... the males flower quick.. so it doesn't take much time..
