First Grow, Soil 4x4 OG Kush, Pure Kush

Hello everyone. I was very excited to start my first grow today.
I have 2 seeds of OG Kush and 2 of pure kush from seedsupreme.
I have them germinating now and hopefully in a couple days they will all split open and show their taproots.
This is my first grow so any help or advice is very much appreciated.

The medium I will be using is Fox Farms Happy frog for my seedings and then when I transplant them they will be in Fox Farm Ocean Forest.

They'll be under 600w MH/HPS and T8 CFL's while they're seedlings

The nutes part im still a little unsure of at the beginning I'll only be giving them cal-mag and a little bit of a root enhancer. Then for veg I'm thinking Fox Farms trio.

I know it might be a little hard to see, because the camera wouldn't focus. These are my pure kush seeds and the one on the left is already cracked open with a little root showing, I was quite surprised considering it's only been about 15 hours and all the rest of them haven't even cracked yet.

Not much going on really yet still. Battling humidity in my seedling area currently. I had to throw a heater next to it to bring temps up from about 65. The rh in my house is about 36% which is dry, but the heater brought it down to 27% in my seedling area which is a no no. I’ve tried putting a cup of water under the humidome and misting it to try and bring it up but I could only get it up to 29% then it dropped back down to 27%. So now I’m gonna try ditching the heater and put a regular heating pad under it for now on low because my seedling matt is still being used to germ. Hopefully taking the heater out and having the heat come from underneath in to the dome will help with my problem. Thankfully I don’t think any of the seeds will be ready to be put in my cubes and under the light yet until tonight at the earliest and 2 of them are yet to crack yet.

So, tonight I’ve decided to just move everything into my tent for now until I can get a better seedling area set up because my humidity still doesn’t want to come up and my tent is in an underground wet basement so, I shouldn’t have that problem down there. I will be putting all 4 of my seeds into rockwool tonight as well. I have the rockwool is soaking in water now with 2ml of cal-mag per gallon and 1/4 ml of GH root enhancer. Only 2 of my seeds have popped so far, but I’ve decided to just throw them all in to the cubes now. Will post pictures later tonight

Day 2 of them being in the tent doing much better with humidity now I usually have it in the 50s or 60s. None of them have broke surface of the cubes yet. Hoping they will in the next couple days.

Well accidentaly killed one this morning. It's taproot had come in upside down, even though I know it would have grown itself down eventually I stupidly tried to turn it around and pulled the taproot right out of the seed. It all good though I guess, I had 3 more of the pure kush seeds so I just threw another one in a cup of water.

Not really liking these rockwool cubes at all, so the one that I just popped I let it soak for about 24h until it sunk then I put it on a paper towel for about another 24h until it cracked and about 4mm of root is hanging out I would say, I just went ahead and put it into my soil after that. I have it sitting in a 18oz solo cup.

My 2 free OG Kush seeds are duds im pretty sure. It’s been about a week and one hasn’t cracked, the other cracked a couple days ago but still no root coming out. I’m thinking give them a few more days then cut my loses.

Started germ on my other 2 pure kush seeds. Just tossed them in a cup of water like the last one. Hoping to have good luck with these 2 and the other in the soil, now that I somewhat know what I’m doing with germing.

If you are going to put the RW in soil you are better off just using rooter plugs, or peet pellets. Less risk in my opinion and a lot simpler, otherwise it looks pretty good so far.

Nothing going on really so far. The 2 I’ve put in soil still haven’t done anything visibly. It’s been about 3 days now should I be worried? Or is it just possible I planted them a little too deep?

The other 2 pure kush seeds I have germing are doing well and hope to get them into the soil tonight or tomorrow morning.

No need to be worried about them I guess. Went and checked them a little bit ago, and on of them is now trying to poke her head out.

Got the other 2 seeds into soil this morning.


The other one that has sprouted is looking good and is now fully through the soil.

The only one sprouted still. She is looking and growing good I think though

Still not much going on with the other 3. Seems to still be doing well though.

Still going pretty good I think, besides I think she is stretching a little bit. What do you guys think?

Had another one sprout today. It’s looking a little sickly. Not sure if it will make it or not.

The first one is still going pretty good. Soil was pretty dry so I went ahead and watered it with plain water until I got a little bit of runoff out of the bottom.

That seedling that has just sprouted isn't looking to good. The cotyledon leaves aren't greening up at all, but the new leaves coming out of them are growing and are coming in pretty green, so I'm still not to sure what to think about that one.
