Hey everyone. Just became a patient and grew some interest in growing since my friend showed up at my door with a bunch of seeds 
. This is my first grow and I wanted to share it with you guys to get some advice.
I had a lot of trouble in the beginning but things are starting to even out.
1. Once they germinated, I transferred them into Black and Gold soil and used Superthrive. I placed 5x100 watt incandescent bulbs above them and placed an oscillating fan next to them. They were extremely unhealthy and were yellow at the tips. About 50% died at this stage.
2. Did a lot of research on rollituporg and learned a bunch of new things. I transferred them into Fox Farms Ocean Forest and immediately used Big Bloom and Grow Big (1/2 str week 3). I also made a grow box at this point, using 6500k light bulbs. Since then they have been doing great and have made much growth.
The current process:
-Every other watering with 1/2 str Fox Farms. Will increase to full str next week.
Been adding nutes, and pH UP in distilled water adjust pH to ~6.8
-Every other watering with 7.0 pH distilled water.
-4 x 6500k CFLs 24/7
I have a $6 soil pH meter that I do not really trust. I used a powder capsule test and it consistently tells me my pH is at 6 while my pH meter reads 6.8. I'm trusting the capsules and don't know what to do to change my pH higher... And it's also showed no sign of bad pH.
-Does adjusting my watering solution to 6.8 pH help at all?
-Should I add lime dolomite to the soil?
