First Grow: Nirvana's Ice

Been slacking on documentation so far, so I figured I might as well start now. Originally started with a pack of Nirvana's Ice seeds, received about Jun-15. Planted 7 seeds (was gonna do 8, but somehow I lost one, so 7), and within a day or two they all sprouted in their party cups. Used Miracle Grow's Organic soil, sphagnum peat moss, and organic humus. Feeding with Better Gro orchid nutes. 3 plants were lost to a really heavy rainstorm around early July, leaving me with four. Due to a lapse on my part, I had to transport the remaining four to a new location, as well as transplant them into 5 gallon buckets. I gifted two plants away and kept two for myself. Just today, I gave them a visit to see that they've finally shown sex. One male, one female. Could've been better, but one female is exponentially better than zero females.

So that's where I'm at now. Got some yellow spots throughout most of the lower leaves, new leaves are still green for now. I upped the veg nutes, and it seemed to help a bit, but maybe that's not the problem. How long should I wait to start the bloom nutes? Also, how much longer should I continue to give veg nutes?

Thanks, and happy gardening.

I'll start the bloom nutes next time I go see her. Should I give it a mix of the two for the first few weeks, or just flip right over to straight-bloom?

i started bloom feed for mine about 3 weeks ago. they looked like urs do now, now they have sum nice lil buds on them lol. and just straight switch, you can give a lil of the other but its never good 2 mix 2 ferts on same plant. or so i hear anyways.

btw on the big ass leaf, that is grasshopper bites lol. put sum herbal (for food) pesticide on them and they will be straight for up to 2 weeks (or until it rains).

Fuckin' grasshoppers. I saw one on the side of the bucket this morning, and just thumped him off without thinking much about it. I'll be more careful now. I've got some organic pest spray I made up with cayenne pepper, garlic, and a gallon of water. I'll get back on spraying that on regularly.

Went to give another feeding and take some pictures today, only to find out that my camera charger is fucked. So no more pics for now. I also realized today that my plants never started getting spotty and yellowish until I changed the water I was using. Before it was solely water from a de-humidifier. For the past month and a half I've been using water out the tap through (what I thought was) a decent filter. Nothing else has changed from what I'd been doing all along. Earlier in their life they were a nice, dark green all over with only the inner, lower leaves yellowing from lack of sufficient sun. Could improper pH be responsible for this nute deficiency?

Starting with the next feeding, and as soon as I can get myself some 5 gallon jugs, I'm going to visit a local natural spring. I'm attempting to get my hands on some paper pH strips, like you'd have at a fast food joint to check the pH of the sanitizer water.

I started bloom nutes today, but I dunno how effective it will be with this shoddy water. I should've known better whenever I attempted to drink water from said filter. Basically, it tasted like shit. Oh well. This is a learning grow. I'm slowly developing my green thumb.

Got a pH tester. Water I was using is about 7.6. Water from the dehumidifer is right at 6.6. Started it today. The plant isn't very happy as I've been using the filtered tap water for about a month. The fan leaves keep getting more and more droopy with yellow spots everywhere. New growths are still dark green, so not all is lost. No flowers yet, but it's certainly in the beginning stages.

Hopefully, in the next few weeks, she'll recover properly and provide me with some funkass.

Got the camera workin' again. Turns out I just misplaced my charger and tried to use my roommate's, which is a different model so it wouldn't work. The new growths seem mostly healthy, with the exceptions of some spotting. I've been told it's a nute deficiency. I started using properly pH'd water again, so hopefully things will straighten themselves out. Is there anything I should do to help the process along? Like, will the soil be off from all the improper pH'd water or can I just soldier forth?

Oh yeah, I took that pic right when I saw he showed sex. Then I brutally murdered him. I was tempted to experiment with breeding, but I need to figure out what the hell I'm doing before I try that. I'd rather have a bit of dank bud than more seeds. I'm not sure when I'll be able to grow again.

Any idea what's making my leaves yellow and die? The new growths are fairly healthy looking, and green. Then as they age they get more and more spots before they wilt completely. I don't want my poor plant to be sickly. What should I do?

What nutes you using? If they dont have any magnesium may have to add some. I have one nirvana ice and I have seem some of the same discoloration at the end of the leaves on the bottom sets but nothing as prevelent as i see on your plants.

BetterGro Orchid nutes. I forget the exact amount, but they do have magnesium in there somewhere. I've been told on another forum that the soil pH may be way too high, so I'm gonna check that at some point today.
