First Grow - Mystery Weed!

This is my first grow (well more our first grow, me and my brothers.) using mystery seeds. I know using seeds from bags isn't the best way to do it. I've heard so much it's better to order your seeds and know what they are, but whatever, this is what I'm doing for my first grow, lol.

GERMINATION
March 1, 2010
Germination starting today. We did this by putting about 8 seeds in a damp paper towel, and that inside of an old CD case, and that in a blanket, haha. (I've heard the paper towel method isn't exactly ideal because you have to touch the seed directly to transplant, but that's what we did!)
(paying closer attention to a specific few we got from a trusted source (didn't even know we were growing just happened to throw us some seeds, lol), and the rest are just random bag seeds that looked healthy or whatever you wanna call it, lol.)

SEEDLING
March 3, 2010
It took a few days but the germination is completed. 2 out of the 8 seeds were successful (one is one of the ones we believe to be good, and the other one a complete mystery, lol) We transplanted them into decomposable cups. (to make transplanting to a pot much easier) Got a grow light, soil, ect. Sorry not going into much detail on the supplies but this is mostly just documentation for my own enjoyment, lol, if it helps anyone in any way than cool! So long story short, a low budget but usable grow room. Got them all set up, and now to start a long ass game of waiting!

So far so good. The seeds have started to sprout and are just starting to break off. You can see the leaves poking out. Everything seems to be going good. (Sorry about the horrible quality pictures, lol)

March 8, 2010
An increasing amount of growing has taken place. The seeds have fallen off and the leaves have sprouted out. The first two spiky leaves have started to grow out the sides.

March 11, 2010
The spiky leaves grew quick, there now pretty damn big and have outgrown the original leaves considerably. The plants are getting increasingly taller and we had to raise the lights a bit. All is well, for now.

March 13, 2010
The spiky leaves have continued to grow out considerably larger, and two more are starting to sprout out the middle of the stem. Today my brother accidentley knocked our good one clean off about 2 feet, All the soil fell everywhere and some of the roots were ripped (actually a considerably large amount. We quickly did some plant surgery and got some water in there. One observation I can make is that the stem isn't holding it up anymore. Based on some research, I feel pretty good that it's going to make it threw with a little TLC. lol.

March 14, 2010
I've come back to my plant and dug around the edges a little bit to see if the stem was holding. It's holding it all the way up again, the leaves are still green and things seem to be doing all right. One thing I've noticed is the plants stem is considerably more purple now. Hopefully that isn't a problem but I posted and it shouldn't be a problem. I hope she (or he, or possibly in the future she-he) is okay, I'm still a bit worried but have high hopes it will make it through. Also another thing I'm thinking about is that I need to get some cash soon because vegetation should start soon (not sure what exactly is considered hitting vegetation, lol) and I don't have any fertilizer, but I'll get some ASAP.

NEXT POST SOME PICTURES

HERE ARE SOME PICTURES FROM THUSFAR SORRY ABOUT THE HORRIBLE QUALITY CAMERA BUT W/E IT IS WHAT IT IS.

They're pretty much in order of oldest to newest.

So it's been about 24 hours since the plant dropped, and it seems to be doing great! At this point I'm pretty much positive she's gonna make it through. Besides that I've gotten some advice through the post I made and everyone else seems to think so too. She's lookin' good, hopefully I can get some fertilizer soon!

So it's now been a couple days since the incident and by now I am positive that my plant is fine. The second 2 spiky leaves are starting to grow out nicely, but both plants still seem to be growing exceptionally slow. I'm guessing it's because of the lack of fertilizer. We need to get some ASAP but we still won't have any money for at least a week. Until than we are going to take care of them and hope they do alright until we can get them some. It been about 2 weeks since we started, and I'm thinking the plants should be bigger by now. Hopefully they'll hang in there.

A COUPLE OF PICTURES ATTACHED OF THE PLANTS DURING THE TIME OF THIS POSTING
