Hey guys , this will be me first indoor grow. A buddy of mine had ordered some Romulan and ended up with some bad luck, all 3 he tried ended up being male when it came to flowering. So... he gave me 3 to give em a try. Currently all 3 germ'd in wet paper towel. 2 sprouted yesterday from the soil and the 3rd today

Alright im going to post some pics of them / the space I have. I'm going to need some help from the older guys around here with growing and setup as the is my first indoor, so please bring on the constructive criticism.

The space I have is roughly 5ft by 3 ft. Right now I have 1 4ft cool white think its 30 some watts and a small 18 watt cool tube. No Real good idea on how to hang/suspend the lights, also have 2 cfls but dont think i need em right yet.

I'd like to be able to have a mother somewhere else maybe and keep clones going in this 5x3 all the time.

PS has anyone had any good luck with Romulan.......

Well guys heres some boring pics of the growth witch has happened in the last day. I do realize this is boring this early, and I'm probably not doing nothing wrong yet but when I am TELL ME

In this pic I moved the light back just to take the pic, its usually directly over them and on 24hrs.

Looks like you did your homework! Good set up, keep those lights low and plants even! Good job on that, make sure those cups can drain, and what are you using for ventilation, and temp control?

hmmm i knew I should have bought a damn thermometer.... I don't have any vent right now either.

I went to town last night and bought 2 40 watt cool white cfls (they're a bit longer then the normal ones), some rubbermaids (11 liters) , soil and some nutrients. I couldn't find the recommended nutrients off the site but i picked up some 20-30-20 ... 20% N 30%P2 05 20% K20 ... is this ok?

I realize not to burn them just gave them minute traces for now.

(also forgot to mention theres a small baseboard heater maybe 2 feet long 2-3 feet from my plants in the closet.)

So what is it I NEED. Right now i just have the two tube fluoro's on them right now. Should I turn the 2 40watt cfls on that I have, or should I wait. Are they going to make the space tooo hot?



Also worried about my light.....their currently on 24hrs.... when should these be ready to start taken the lights down a few hours a day and what is the best cycle to promote females

Another thing I realize is I'm going to spend a bit of money on cfls bulbs, and i DO realize that. Thats what I want to do, I KNOW i can go buy a HPS bulb/ballast but... well ya know

Wow that CFL is amazing, is it a high spectrum bulb? remember for veg they need lighting with a bulb either 5500k, or 6500k I used both for my Veg plants.

That plant food looks ok for flower but for veg use something heavy in Nitrogen. I suggest using organic food with a mix of bone/blood meal for a Nitrogen boost, I used it and my plants LOVED it.

Go to Radio Shack/Home Depot and get a cheap thermometer for like $10 bucks. Your gonna wanna keep the plants at a steady 72*-82*

Leave the lights one 24/7 as long as u can. It takes a plant a month and a half to 2 months to get big enough to flower, after that the lights go on 12 hours and off for 12 hours. If you want you can use 18/6, or 20/4 but I just suggest 24 hours a day on it just makes it easier. Make sure no direct heat it on the plant so you dont stress or burn them, the lights wont burn em though make sure you leave at least a inch gap between minimum. Ventilation is very important, as the roots need fresh CO2 in order to grow. Get a small oscillating fan and keep the air on em at least a few hours a day.

Im still only using the two tube fluoro's and not the CFL... couple pics to show you the box it came in.... i just busted one this morning it fell off something

Yea looking good, its oka you dont have a fan just yet, but get one soon, plants flourish much better with ventilation, other than that looking good buddy!

What about transplanting.... i bought 2 11 liter rubbermaid and they have soil in em ready to go. At this point should I maybe put 2 in 1 rubbermaid and 1 in the other ?

if not how much longer are you thinking?
and what about the cfls when should I add the CFL's to the grow? I'll probly have to wait until the tubes are atleast another 5-10 inches higher

Give me some updated pics of the plants and pictures of what you want to transplant them in.

Either way you always wanna transplant them on a day you water/feed them. You have seedlings so food is not needed yet. So on a watering day is a day you transplant. It provides less stress on your plants. The less stress the better.

Also whenever you can I always suggest potting plants alone, the roots develop much better and dont have to compete for food or water when they are on there own.

OK heres the pics 5 mins ago moved them to try and get a good pic.... still haven't figured out this camera.

See I only have the 2 rubbermaids i guess one is 11L and one is 19L , maybe when i transplant i'll only do 2 until I get another container. What could i put under the rubbbermaids as a water catcher ?

You got a while before needing to transplant in those huge things. Actually you might wanna consider something much smaller before those huge containers. Because it allows the roots to spread out in a way that maximizes water/air intake. Transplanting from one medium to another allows for better root development. Even then you have a little while to go before it is needed. No point in adding the least bit of stress to your babies at such a young stage.

I used to always wonder why all you fools just didn't plant em in a big enough pot so you didnt have to transplant again lol

1 other question... can your plants getting root bound cause them to be hermie?

Never herd of root bound itself being the deciding factor of the plants sex. That goes all based on the stress level of the plant and the environment it feels it in. Happy plants = bitches.
