First Grow Making Mistakes Already LOL

Ok, so I started my first grow, I'm doing a flood and drain hydro system and I plan on doing using the Lucas Formula (when my plants get there)..

So after spending the last few weeks reading and making a ton of notes I must have missed the page that said not to add nutes till about 20 days...

Anyway my plants are about 8 days old and I added nutes 2 days ago... today I realized that was too early the plans seem ok but there are small white curved lines on the 3 small leaves that have formed you can hardly notice unless you look really close.

Anyway I dumped the rez and replaced with pH balanced water and let the system flood for about 10 minutes.. and put the pump back on the timer.

Is there anything else I should do? Obviously not add more nutes, but tomorrow should I drain the rez again just to get rid of any remaining nutes that where in the flood tray but have drained into the rez?

Seeing as how you've changed the reservoir, I'd say any residual nutrients shouldn't hurt too much. When I had my setup running, I waited 1 week and gave my plants 1/4 strength nutes, and they did fine with it.

My best advice for you, is to wait another week or so,(until your water needs a changing) and go with a very light concentration of nutes and see how your babies react to it. If they wilt or burn, flush em'. If they do fine, increase it a bit every time you change your water. Worked for me. They stayed healthy.

Seeing as how this is your first grow, I'd like to pass along some sound advice, that was given to me... Unless absolutely necessary, LEAVE THEM ALONE! I've no reason to believe your over-pampering them now, but that is the most common newbie problem.(I had a problem with touching them too much)

Good luck, and happy gardening!

Thanks for the advice, yes I do check them like first thing in the morning, then pretty much ever hour in the evening after work unless I go out but I just look at them and talk with them... I don't really do anything maybe check the pH... But I can see how over pampering them can be a problem especially for a noob because its just so well damn exciting!

And I plan on doing the lucas formula where I don't change the rez I just add nutes with any added water.. I figure I would start out with 1/4 nutes at a EC of 296µS then keep it there for about a week, then week two bring the system up to 1/2 strength EC 592µS then in week three bring my EC up to its final value for veg growth 1184 µS

Actually I do have a question about this my EC meeter says that my tap water is about 174µS do I need to add that to the totals to account for water's current value? So Lucas says that my EC for Veg should be 1184 µS so should I add my 174 µS to that to get my proper EC total?
