First Grow - LED White Widow/Gorilla Glue #4

I hear good things about supplementing leds with "white" light for denser buds tho.. so id say expect denser buds with the hps but im just speculating lol
Yeah I love the combined spectrum, and the pro's/con's of each type of light sort of balance each other out. The light is very intense. You can see some of the leaves that are shadowed from the HPS have a white/blue/purple tint to them from the LED.

So were about 6 weeks into flower now, the biggest buds are a little bit bigger than a bic lighter. Most of the buds are starting have some of the pistils turn orange, getting really frosty :weed:. Also some of the bigger buds are getting too heavy for the stems and dropping over, makes it very difficult to water.

I figure I have at least a month left on these girls.

In tent 2, I brought back the plant that I didn't top and switched to 12/12 a week earlier, that's why shes so stretchy. The ones in tent 2 are looking very green and healthy, much easier to manage smaller plants in 3 gal pots.

Solo cup is also getting some orange pistils. Looks like i'll get at least an 8th from it! Would do it again:joint:

Starting week 8 of flower, the WW are getting close to finish. The buds are getting really heavy and droopy so I had to prop both of the WW up with zipties. Looking through microscope I can see a few amber trichomes here and there, but are mostly 50/50 clear and cloudy. When I propped them up, there were a few buds that were just sitting in the soil so I had to cut them. They look pretty good so I am drying/curing them. The rest of the WW looks like it's almost ready for harvest, I think I will chop down a plant or 2 this sunday.

The GG4 however still needs some time. She's getting pretty big still and the stems are strong enough so none of them are drooping. Pretty much all of the pistils are white so I plan on giving it another week or 2 at least to let her fatten up.

I put 4 seeds in soil today, 2 AK48 and 2 Wonder Woman. I think if I harvest 2 plants on sunday ill be able to move the other 4 from tent 2 in the big one and put the seeds into the smaller tent. I don't really want to rush harvest but also want to experiment with harvesting at different levels of ripeness.

Really good job man.. for a 1st grow, I'd bet you've done better than most on their 1st grow. The WW looks like its gonna smoke great

I harvested 3 of the 4 plants on April 5-6th. That makes for just under 8 weeks of flower. I dried them for 5-6 days and into the CVault for easy curing. It's dry enough to smoke now and tastes great. Really nice high. Also, the CVault makes it a really good humidity to smoke, burns at a nice rate.

I finally weighed it today and she came in at 180 grams, 60 grams per plant, so Ill definitely hit my half pound goal after I harvest the last, biggest plant.

The last one is definitely a different strain than the others, because its now a week after I harvested the others and it's still not done. All of the buds are still full of white pistils, trichomes mostly cloudy now. I gave her a little defoliation and she's getting massive. Feeding her pretty heavy nutes, lots of P and K. Every other watering I give it 2.25 gallons of pH'd water and clean her out.

All 4 of the seeds sprouted on 4/7/18. 1 of the Wonder Woman is a little smaller than the others, but I'll keep it regardless. I'll create a new thread about them when they start to get a little bigger. I will be glad to start with reliable genetics, as I really don't know what these are now.

Thanks

It's been a lot of fun watching them grow, I have a new appreciation for the plant.

I forgot to post earlier that I still have the solo cup going as well. I'll be chopping it Sunday or Monday so I figured I would wait to post pics until then. I'm going to do a couple things differently with the new seeds. The flower tent is crowded again as the seedlings have the smaller tent to themselves so there's going to be a lot more trimming to do... I defoliated the clones quite a bit, once a week before switch to 12/12, and once again 3 weeks into flower. The one on the left side however I left alone, never topped it and never clipped a single fan leaf.

The AK48 plant has some crazy looking buds down low. They are covered in white curly hairs and look really dense. Can't wait to try her out.:weed: It's the one in the bottom right corner of pic.

Gave the solo cup 24 hours dark and chopped her today. Looks like a decent amount of bud, I think it was worth it. The mother that I took it from was the lowest yielding so I wasn't expecting too much.

The last GG4 is still going strong. I'm going to let it go at least until this weekend, will post more pics then.

I have been meaning to give an update when I harvested the last plant, but she's still going. It's now been 11.5 weeks of flower on this GG4 and shes getting massive. A lot of purple going on the fan leaves and even the flowers as well. There are over 50% orange pistils now but still some white as well. I'll be leaving for 1.5 weeks so I have to make a decision here to harvest before or after I go. They are getting to the size now where I am concerned about bud rot. I have read before that some strains will finish with white pistils. The trichomes are pretty much all cloudy, with very few ambers. The only ambers were on the fan leaves poking out of the flowers.

Excellent looking buds.. i think 1 week and a half would be fine as long as u can keep the humidity down while your gone and some really good airflow.. at this point the buds do get pretty dense and holds onto alot of moisture. I think it all comes down to humidity control and airflow while your gone. With that being said, if mold or bud rot is really a risk, i dont think cutting it down now would affect the quality enough to possibly risk bud rot.. just a thought and congrats on finishing the grow!!

Beautiful looking plant man. Would love to see the finished product of this strain. Did you end up keeping any clones of it?

Hello all,

The first one got messed up and ended up changing a lot so i'll start fresh. This is my first grow and I will have lots of questions so feel free to post and help me out here. Starting with clones, i'll be doing 4 plants. 2 White Widow, 2 Gorilla Glue #4.

Tent
4'x4'x80" Using 4" fan and carbon filter.

Soil
Fox Farm Ocean Forest/Perlite -70/30 Mix. 7gal fabric smart pots.

Lights
2 - Viparspectra 450W LED (200W actual each)

Nutrients
GH Micro/Gro/Bloom series. Supplemented with CalMag. Have some FloraBloom and FloraKleen as well, not sure how much ill use. Would like to go light on the nutes for the first grow. Also used Mykos on the roots. pH to 6.7ish

Training
I will be topping these plants 1-2 times as well as the SCROG technique. Will most likely use 2 layer of trellis netting.

I plan on running 6-8 weeks veg 8-10 flower. The WW seems to be a little farther along than the GG4. The root systems looked very healthy during transplant.

Plants are now halfway through week 3. I topped the plants 4 days ago so they slowed down a bit but are recovering well. I have both lights on "veg" only 30" away from plants for now. Staying around 74-79F and 55-65% humidity for now.
