First of all i acquired the seeds from my friend who smoked some really bomb kush that had seeds and then gave them to me. My journal isnt going to start from the birth of my all of my plants. I have 2 plants 3 weeks in and two plants almost 2 weeks in. I planted 5 new germinated seeds in small pots today.

Setup goes:
400 watt hps,
4 by 4 tent
fan on light
I have the stuff for air exhaust but i am yet to set it up.
just bought some pro gro veg nutrients, when should i use?

Status: of the 3 weeks old one is strong one is eh...
of the 2 weeks, not bueno
just planted 5 germinated seeds as well :mrgreen:

im worried that i am going to lose the smaller plants, and the larger one that is not healthy. Please help me, im trying my hardest but i have no idea what im doing
 
Its hard to see your lil guy with the hps's glow on it. They look okay. Do you have a fan blowing on them? You can give a light dose of nutes to the 3 week old.
 
its attached to the light, it goes throught the cylinder shaped hood and the plants seem to sway from its circulation. need another one blowing directly on them?
 
it dosent have to be directly on them, just get an osilating fan. check out my grow im using an hps for all the stages too
 
am i in decent shape man? and is kush a long harvester because right now progress is slow, but i am inexperienced.
 
how did you saturate your soil for the seeds? i need to do that because i have had no success starting plants in small pots. ZERO out of like 8!
 
The plants grow sorta exponetially. As more nodes grow, they grow out and so on, if you get that. So, things are a little slow in the begining but week by week you should definatly be seening differences, especially after 3 weeks. Some wind blowing around the room with help the stalks get thicker/stronger and better for sucking nutrients through them. They enjoy a cool breeze, no doubt.
 
miracle grow. Im sorry i forgot to post that in the specifics. Yeah, actually i mixed some jiffy seed starter with mostly miracle grow in the new pots today. can someone explain to me how to properly start seedlings because i dont understand why i have one hundred percent success in big pots 4 for 4 and am 0 for 8 in small pots.

i get it smokertoker, the nice looking plant looked like shit last week. i guess im just a little frustrated with all the dead seedlings.
 
im spraying the topsoil like you said you were early in your grow. bad idea? someone told you to dip the pot in water? does it need to be moist all day long because that is something i am not doing and have no idea how to by spraying. topsoil goes dry on all my plants within the first 8 hours every time i water with the big plants. probably much less time in the small pots.

i might have figured out what i did wrong with the seedlings in small pots. I was spraying the tops of the newly sprouted seedling when i wet the top soil. i just read in a thread someone said that was dumb because it fries the leaves, makes sense. could that have been it with the light foot and a half away? btw the light is now over 2 feet away from seedlings, foot and a half from other plants.
 
i will never use miracle grow again, worst results ever.

i have never tried the paper towel method but it sounds like u should try that.i dont think im doing anything special when i germinate my seeds in soil.maybe i just have a greenthumb.

also whats the distance of the plants from the light
 
They are most fussy at that young age...
Could your seeds have been old or not stored or treated well in there life? Did the 8 come from the same bag as the 4?
My vote is paper towel and baggie, then pot after germination.
 
your top soil drying out is fine. If you try to keep your top soil wet you are probably going to end up over watering your babies.
 
watering was one of the tough things for me at first, i was scared i would overwater.

everytime i water i do it until the water comes out of the holes at the bottom.

i dont know what you mean by dipping the pot in water ,all you have to do really is saturate the soil once,plants seed, and make sure the TOP dosent get too dry.
 
im sorry guys, they are already germinated through paper towel method. i spaced man, they were germinated before i put them in the pot. my real problem is once they sprout in those pots they get about 3 quarters an inch tall then peel over. they could have been mistreated yes, but they were pretty young, unless the bud my buddy smoked was old, he knows better though so they were probaby young.
