get all the light you have directly over the seedling..
you could take one of your cfl's(6500K spectrum) and use that...keep it about 2-3" from the plant. and i would keep it on a 24hr light schedule until flower...unless you have a completely dark room for it..18/6 is fine.

i was thinking of that but im not sure...i think i might just do the 24 hour thing at this point due to the lacc of lighting. I've read up many opinions and researched alot so im not sure what to do

24hrs of light is fine..18/6 is fine too..its just when you grow indoors and the plant is on its night cycle, it has to be completely dark..no light leaks whatsoever or you will run into problems. what kind of CFLs are you using?

LOL I did a ghetto grow too, made a dark room with contractors plastic sheeting and free paint stir sticks from home depot, used the sticks to screw the plastic up... then used 6 CFL's and ordered mylar to make a hood out of card board and line the walls, also did 18/6 and got these two....

well honestly i have no clue lolz a friend brought me over a lamp and the bulbs were already in heres a better pic of the whole fucced up set up which is going to get better in time.. and yea its complete darknes when my bbys sleeping but i still keep the fan on at all times and am sure not to water every day

hopefully i have as good of a grow as that...i plan on investing some money on this but its tight right now...lolz i use duct tape n foil but i got lazy n only half has the foil..i dont want my plants getting burnt either so i might have to also invest in sum mylar

Like smokey said you'll want to use 6500k cfls, they are the daytime color, not the soft white ones. I used tin foil when i first start my first grow box for about 2 days. Then took it out and used emergency blankets from walmart (http://www.walmart.com/ip/Wenzel-Emergency-Blanket/15111420). not as relfective as mylar am sure but its workign pretty good for me, and was actually only $3 at my local wally world, as im tryign to stay on a budget as well.
Ive also learned that you should cover your cup with something to block the light, the roots dont like light.

well yea i kno but im just working with what i got till i get to the store. i need a lot more light.
hopefully it turns out good...i got a worm compost goin lolz i think i got the wrong worms i found sum dead ones. the guy at the bait shop wuz kinda ignorant
