First grow is a success...

So I stayed pretty basic for my first grow, simple box...lined with mylar, 1 400w electronic ballast.

Plants were seeded in Miracle Grow seedling soil, transplanted after 1 week to Miracle Grow potting soil (3 parts regular to 1 part moisture control, I used the 1 part moisture control because I built my box for max light retention and feared constant drying of soil due to heat)

They were grown for 8 weeks under a 400w MH bulb (never did more than water them, I tried a low dose of nutrient water (1/4 strength for a seedling) and it even seemed to be too much as two levels of leaves went yellow in 3 days. So I leached the soil and kept a water only regiment from their.

Then put into a 36 hour dark photoperiod (advice of Jorge Cervantes' book) and put into a 12/12

The last pic is about 3 - 4 weeks prior to the first 3, the first 3 pics were taken today, 1 week into their 12/12 and I am happy to say TWO of the three showed their first sure signs of being beautiful baby girls!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice bushy plants. It looks like in picture 4 one of them is yellowing though, or is that just the light?

Looks good. What strain? Does that digital ballast cut down on the heat any?

I have no clue what strain it is, they were seeds I pulled out of a bag somewhere down the road. The digital ballast runs MUCH cooler, but it's also outside of that box and in another room also.

Yeah, I guess Miracle Grow has enough nutrients in it, because when the plants were about 4 weeks old I mixed a veg nutrient at less than quarter strength and it burned them bad, one as you see got it pretty bad. Oh....and there's the slight possibility that one plant got watered from a new container I didn't quite rinse all the bleach out of from sanitizing it. OOPS!!

But so far all has turned out well for my first try. Today I started my hydro DWC setup now that I feel comfortable with the grow process.

Here are some more, the sprout pics were taken May 29th, sorry correction May 2nd...maybe 2 days old in the pics.
