First grow, germination wilting [+pics]

So here's the quick lowdown.

I started these without water or paper towel germination. Just bagseeds dropped in some jiffypots with some organic soil.

They sprouted within 3 days and all was well for 3 days. Day 4 I left town for 3 days and left the watering to a friend. Today I came back to this.

My first assumption was overwatering.
But he assured me that he waited till the soil was dry at the bottom before watering again.

I remembered that I had set aside two bottles of water, one with a tiny amount of nutes [dr. earth] for later in the grow, and one with just tap water that had been sitting for a few days.

Apparently after the one small bottle of tap water ran out, he just used the next[with nutes] for 2 days.

Yes, i personally know it would be beyond stupid to add nutes at such an early age. He didn't, and didn't think twice about the water.

So i guess my question is, are the nutes the cause of death?

hard to tell from those pics but i don't see any nute burn - droopy but otherwise healthy leaves are either over or under watering

Well, I don't think it's dead because a second set of tiny leaves has started above the first two. So apparently it's still growing.

But I just don't understand the droopy leaves. I don't want to overwater. I guess only time will tell.

So a few days later and no difference other than the 2 new leaves per plant, wich are growing pretty fast... so it's still growing/not completely dead?

The actual leaves are still really a nice green but the cotyledons are now starting to turn yellow, normal this early [1.5 weeks since sprouting]?

Any thoughts/criticisms would be great.

Thank you

i would add some hydrogen peroxide, just at 3 or 6 percent from the chemist and add it to yer ph'd water - give it a spritz on the top of the soil then back off for a day or so. i'm quite inclined to say the issues began with overwatering - even if you think you're not, you probably still are (when yer new that is ;)

Thanks a lot. I figured it was overwatering too. Just didn't think i would make that mistake, having read soo much about it.

So how much peroxide would you say per litre/ml?

for seedlings and clones i like to go very easy on it, so i'd put 5ml of 3 percent into about 300 ml of phd water - that's just how i do it but it works well, fungus can be a big issue when it's over watered :)
