first grow fail

My first grow failed.

Soil: potting soil
Nutes: 10-10-10
Light: 2x CFL

I think the problem is both light and nutes. would you all agree?
At first they stopped drinking and then they shriveled up. My next grow I am going to go to like 6x lights and probably change the nutes in flowering. but what would you recommend.
 
what do you mean it failed? because if it didn't pop out the dirt that happens sometimes normal. how old was the plant(because as they get older the temps have to be in the 74-87 range) and you know you're not supposed to use nutes for the first month or longer right?
 
I'd say all of the above are the reasons you failed.

Soil: Use either a premium soil like Fox Farms Ocean Forrest or make a solid aerated blend. A good blend would be something like 60% potting soil/20% vermiculate/20% perlite.

Nutes: Don't use any until they are 3-4 weeks into veg and if you are flowering them small (10"-12") you shouldn't need nutes until flower time.

Lights: 2 CFL's could get you there but not the way real lights that people grow marijuana with would.

Thanks man It was a nice harvest and a real good smoke. Hightimes still does not post my pics in the pics of the crop I email them new pics monthly. Yet they post so much weaker shit. One day I will get in the high times or at least on the damn website.

yea i'm from the eastcaost but i'm in college in nyc they staysayin it's garbage and shit. no, my shit comes straight from cali and i know that for a fact. i really don't expect some bud like yours for my first grow. but i expect to get some shit like that for my second grow. shit looks dank. fuck hightimes it's overrated
 
As long as you play your cards right and spend the cash on your setup you will get sick buds. Basically follow the rules and you will get buds like mine or maybe better. People will always hate no matter what buds you bring to the table. I get some smoke from the Cali med shops from time to time that blows my shit out of the water.

Yeah I really can't explain it a whole lot better than that. When it is cold but not so cold it kills your plants they change colors. It's like autumn leaves when the plants feel the season changing. In the winter time I always stick them in an unheated part of my house for the last three days or so before I harvest. It varies strain to strain but almost always changes them at least a little.
 
I use Fox Farms ocean forest soil with fox farms full line of nutrients and micro nutrients I use the fox farms feeding schedule you can google it. A 1000 watt HPS and a 400 watt hps for flowering. I use 8 t5's for veg.
