picked 5 clones for my first grow. how big of pots should i plant them in and what would be the best soil type for them.

The first step should be do your research. I would think a book like Integral Hydroponics is a great start. Are you growing them under lights. What strain are they.

don't worry about any of that nonsense the new2diz is saying...

pot them in gradually larger pots,...usually cuttings start off in 2x2x2" pots, then I move them to 4x4x4" and usually finish clones in a 1 or 2 gallon pot, depending on the strain. If you're giving them a good amount of water and then need another watering that day, probably out grown their pots, but I subscribe to the law that the plants should be somewhat crowded in their current pot before you pot up, helps promote shorter internode distance, imo with every plant I've worked with, house plants, bonsia trees, cannabis.

Shandeezy... Welcome to RIU!

Bro, search and stickies are your friends. Spend some time as new2diz suggested and do a little research as all the info you can process is here. A great place to start is newbie central, there are some great guides there.

So, you've got yourself 5 clones and are just thinking of containers and planting medium? You may want to consider having a plan from this point on, imho.

k thanks guys im gonna transplant them tonight.right now there under 4ft flouresent lights but i am going to switch to a HPS bulb i think.the strain is unknown also.they are still in the rockwool and about 10 inches high.how long should i wait to transplant em to?

I'm no expert, but think there are far too many variables for someone who is to give clear direction... What size containers are they in now? What kind of set up will you use? etc etc... I do know this though, which is long as you use the 4' fluorescent keep the light right on top of the plants, close as possible or they will tend to stretch.

haha k thanks guys and gals?iv been doing much research and most of my questions have been answerd.will kepp yall up to date with my first grow.happy tokin
