First grow ever: Top44 - back to basics but ambitious

Howdy y'all :)
I'd like to start by saying that i've been reading up about growing alot on this site and i truly enjoyed some of these journals.
I was planning on KISS but a few of the "first grow" journals really inspired me to go that extra "mile" and made me see things a little bit more ambitious :)

Initial grow-plan:
a closet, some CFL's a flower pot or 3 and patience & caring.

After reading this is gonna be my shopping list i (already have some of these):
- a closet
- white paint, panda-plastic or styrofoam sheets for light/warmth (any material that reflects light acts as a heater aswell, hence that only 70-95% of reflection is achieved, the rest is warmth)
- light sockets
- 6 CFL's (27w and i'm going for a 6/2 or 4/4 set of "cool"/"warm" bulbs)
- 3 flower pots (approx. 10")
- 3 clone pots (cups or small flower pots)
- white decorative gravel (inspired by Tahoe's journal)
- potting soil & nutrients
- yeast, sugar & water (CO2-solution)
- patience & caring :p

on a side-note, i'm belgian, a very casual smoker, and since we're allowed one plant over here, i decided to grow my own because it's become to stinkin' expensive to go across the border to get some...and even if it wasn't, it's becoming scarser by the day so...

i'm headed out to the shops in a minute, and i plan on getting some pics up when i get back home :)

i'm guessing you're stoned cuz what you just wrote doesn't make aaany sense to me :D (no offence ofc)

i just got back home with all my stuff, and i don't know but over here the CFL's are effing expensive, 8 euros for 1 lamp :o i read on the forum somewhere that you can buy them at wallmart, a set of 3 even, for 5-6 bux, that's like 3-4 euro's :) the cheapest ones i found were not good enough and were still 6 euros!
yeah, belgium might be leisure country in terms of social security and stuff, but it's effing expensive... in about everything :( i was born in the wrong country, i'm telling ya...

anyway, here's what i got:
- 2 CFL's 27W, 1430 lumens each (it'll do for now :p, when i have my next paycheck i'm gettin' some more) with sockets and 5.8ft of wiring
- 1x 12" flowering pot (about 10L worth of soil goes in it)
- 3x 6" flowering pots (intended to use them for clones to mature in a little
before i repot them into bigger pots)
- universal potting soil (couldn't find anything that was more suitable)
- white paint (satin gloss, couldn't find any normal white paint, it was either that or high gloss...) which is being applied right now by the girlfriend :p

pictures below (self-explanatory which is which, if not, just ask ;))

and just on a side-note, my lady-cat gave birth a week ago to these little cuties :p thought i might share those 5 small miracles of life with you guys :)

My seeds sprouted! :p

put em in the big pot (all 3 i know, rule of thumb is one per pot, but since i have only one pot for the moment, it'll have to do!)
and by tonight, 12 o'clock, i'm puttin' them in the closet with all lights on! (got 2 extra from my girl, she forgot she had 2 lying around the house that she wasn't using :p lucky me)

then, tomorrow at 18:00 hrs, the lights go out and then by 12 o'clock they go on again for the next 18 hrs of light!
i'm going to put them on a 18/6 light cycle and water them every other or 2 days...

fingers crossed for me guys :d

you shouldnt of planted them in that pot with all 3 of them in their now to roots are going to get tangled up... it should take about 4-7 days to see a sprout... keep soil mosit but dont overwater and you do need the light only if you want to... you can keep them up till u see aa sprout then turn them on!!!

evolution is a wonderful thing ain't it?
i really am astonished to see how things progress (and happy to see progress :p)
it's been 3 days, barely, since i planted my seeds and already there's so much change going on...
now i remember why biology was one of my favourite courses when i was in high-school :)

and in other good news, a second seed is popping up... (had to loosen the soil a little and i'm glad i did cuz compared to last night, the seedling has grown a little so that's a good thing.

there is some bad news too tho, the third seed hasn't sprouted (i found it last night, not cracked open or anything)
i went ahead and put it in my germ-dish again together with another seed, tomorrow evening i'm gonna check up on those 2 again, and if they're cracked, i'm gonna put 'em in some soil right away...

pics below: first seedling, standing proud, second one making his way up :)

and life progresses, the lights just went on again about an hour ago
but i noticed something that's kinda disturbing (to me that is)
the big one is growing steadily but i noticed that there's on of the leaves is a little brown/yellowish...
is this normal or should i be worried?

and the other one, pushing on steadily

back :)
some info:
the plant with the brown-yellowish leaf was nothing to worry about apparently, that's just the color the leaves have, now there's two cerrated 5-tip leaves sprouting from the center :) nice 'n green! :p
the other seed is pulling through nicely aswell, although it seems that it has to put in more effort compared to the other one.
The two seeds i put in the germ-dish, well, one of em is potted, the other one appeared to be a dud...
just waiting to see some life from the one i put in the soil :)

i'll get back here tonight with some pics

in any case, i'm happy with what i'm seeing, they're actually growing (concidering my luck with plants in the past, this is quite an achievement :D)

grtz y'all!

btw, i smoked some daydream yesterday... and super crystal... damn damn damn...
good stuff man :)
completely and utterly blazed :p

not that anyone is following this but if there IS someone watching out there...
my apologies for the lack of updates & stuff, due to the holidays i haven't spent much time online so...
Tonight, i promise, i'll upload some new pics...

which won't look great... all 3 plants are struggling...
i've came up with the following causes:
- nutes (or the deficiency thereof)
- temperature (i think it's about 64/70°F inside the closet, i doubt that this is enough and a touch of frost passed through the country so that won't help much either)
- not enough light (although i sincerely doubt that this is a problem since the plants have been doing fine up till 3 days ago...)

The pictures, as promised :)

check it out, and tell me what you see (also, feel free to compare & share your findings with mine listed above this post based on what you see)

grtz

Are these guys dead? I'm assuming so. I think your lights were too far away. The plants looked VERY stretched. CFL's have to be very close to the plants. Just get a thermometer and humidity sensor in there near the plants (I put mine right in the plant pot with them) and make sure the lights are close enough to get temps to about 75 degrees. It will be close. Don't worry about burning or such. The plants will be calm about vertical growth if they're comfortable. Anyways.. I'm assuming you walked away, but hoping your start again. I saw your thread because I'm growing Top44, too.

Enjoy!
