yikes, this is our first hydro grow and we seemed to have start it at the worst time! we are using a powegrower eco continuous drip system. a lot went on here. bear with me as i explain...

we started off with this...

3 healthy clones, stayed healthy until we left for vacation. fed general hydroponic's agressive growth feeding formula 24/0 light cycle on a 140 equal watt CFL light. (mind you, i never meant to do this on my own and have no clue what i'm doing.)

we left for vacation last saturday and came back this friday afternoon, i go down stairs and my babies look like this

more pictures attatched

it turns out i was running the continuous drip too often...and by too often i mean continuously. for the entire week, 24 hours a day. Now, i'm assuming the problem is overfeeding. i flushed them today and gave them SLIGHT nutrients (regular growth feeding formula, 12.5ml of floragrow, 7.5 ml of floramicro and 2.5ml of florabloom mixed in 1 gallon of water and another 1 gallon of regular water. ) i bought two 14 watt Bloom Boss squares that are still running on a 24/0 light schedule.

i turned the drip system off for the day to let the roots air out after the flush and i don't plan on feeding them as often, maybe turning the drip on once or twice a day until they look better. unless i shouldnt! the leaves and stems are still green so i don't think they're dead. but i'd like to know if they're fucked or if there is hope. what should i do?/what am i doing wrong? anything i should do instead? this is all a huge mess but it's my first time using hydro, i prefer the outdoor method of leave it and let it grow. help a sister out! thank you xo

looks like you will have to start over mate. in looking at your first picture your leaves were wet with the lights on and thats a first no no. Water acts like a magnifying glass to light and amplifies the light to the point of burning. The first two grows that i did had a constant drip going and my plants grew great with the help of a powerful air pump, so i do not think that is the main cause. when you left your PH could have risen to toxic levels as with hydro i start with a PH of 5.5 and let it get to 6.3 then do a water change and get it back down to 5.5. do you have a PH meter? also do you have an air stone in the water to keep everything oxygenated? just having the air to work your drip is not enough. also i do not see a fan in there for air movement, the temperature on the top of the plants is probably through the roof. make sure not to go above 83F on the tops of your plants. I have a grow going with the same concept that you are using with the bubble drip an i am only watering 4-5 times a day 15 min at a time until my plants get bigger and the roots start growing into the water them i drop the watering to 3 times a day when the lights are on and only 15 min at a time. there is a number of other things that could have gone wrong and i am just attempting to try to figure out what happened with your plants. do you have a PPM gauge? if so check to see that you are not above 800 ppm or you will burn new plants. hopefully this gets you in the right direction and if you have anymore questions along the way i am more than happy to help out. sorry that this happened to you and i hope that this doesn't discourage you from growing.

-also grow only one plant per pot as it will get big fast and you do not want crowding

AH! thank you so much for your help! i was hoping someone would just tell me to start over because there is just so much wrong with them. I have a box fan outside the shower stall blowing air inside, but havent tested the water since we set up the system so i'm sure the ph was out of control while we left. i'll definitely be getting everything you said before my next grow. should you only have the drip system run with the lights off while the plants are still small enough to get wet? what method do you use of starting the plants? clones or seeds? could you put a seed directly into the rockwool? i could ask you so many questions, if you dont want to answer just tell me to fuck off and get a book haha. thank you so much!!!!

you can start seeds in rockwool plugs, i fill the hole on the rockwool cube with coco and just start them like that

instead of buying rockwool plugs and coco to start off the seeds would i be able to use peat plugs? or is that shite for the system?

you could, it isn't the best method. if you don't care about everything being perfect go for it, the only problem i can really think of is that you're likely to get all the particles in the tubing and such.

haha i don't mind if its not all perfect as long as it still goes well. as long as i dont have to spend any more money. i will definitely be on the look out for rockwool plugs if it will help avoid problems. thank you!
