I've been reading a lot on the forums and have picked up lots of information. I have a question about PH levels.
I have the simple test tube/drop method for testing my ph levels, plants are 2-3 weeks old, looking beautiful.
I'm using tubs and I have two plants, 6 gallons of water/nutrients. Two 12" airstones and a pretty oversized air pump. Im using hydroton, and when I introdudced my sprouted seeds I used rockwool.
I'm also running a 400w HPS tube fan vented, and an intake fake fan low on my tent, and pulling the air out the top of the tent, haven't had to worry about carbon filters or such yet... but the issue I'm having is that my PH level, every day I need to add PH Down to get down to around the 5.5/6 level, if I go more than 24 hours my PH shoots up to 7 or 8.
Using tap water (no chlorine etc, comes from my wel) as well as the genhyrdro nutrients family.
I've heard ph rises are normal, but I've also read that they should stay stable. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions as far as PH or any of the rest of my set up? I don't have anthing for testing ppm (have more reading to do on this)
Should I just keep adding PH down daily? Is there something else I should add to help with this? Any input is greatly appreciated, and I know many of these questions have been asked in one form or another on this forum already, but I find a lot of conflicting answers.
