First grow - Autoflower & Photoperiod, multiple strains

Currently I have Super Silver Haze (x Unknown), Blue Dream x Convict Kush, White Berry, Bastard Bubba, Chocolate Chunky Munky, some Unknown Clones (not the strain the SSH was crossed with), and an autoflowering Kush Van Stitch. I started a journal in the journal section but it seems like there is hardly any traffic there so please visit my journal and give me input, advice, comments, critiques..anything! I'm always looking to learn and would like to meet some friends here.

seccon one ... I would consider to repot soon .. get some more of them grow bags .. they are great .. or just some cheap 3 gallon plastic pots with good drain holes in em .. but soil looks good ..

3th pics .. look like a bit of heat stress ? or might be to many nuts ? atlest it dont look that healthy .. tho need some more info for Ppl. to help you ..

Thanks Slipon - most of the plants have been repotted in grow bags or plastic containers (got like 6 bags/containers at the SF Indoor Garden Expo ), looks like theres going to be at least 2 Super Silver Haze females, 1 Blue Dream x Convict Kush female, and 1 White Berry female. I still have 2 Bastard Bubba's that have not shown sex yet (something weird going on with them, their lower leaves burn and die really easily. Happened to one Bubba earlier in its life and its still recovering and it looks like it just happened to my "healthy" Bubba last night, theres some pics of the first one in my other thread I think) The autoflower did get a little heat stress (day time temps were around 100+ so it got a little hot in my tent) but I've pruned the dead and really damaged leaves and it is looking a lot better - hairs are starting to retract and turn orange, resin is becoming a lot more visible. I'm thinking I'll probably just toss the rest of the seedlings I have in the 9oz cups, I have a female from pretty much each strain (and each female I handpicked for the phenotypes I liked) so I'm thinking I will either clone these to keep the genetics alive or just buy some clones when I start my next grow, I'm not sure yet.

I'm pretty high from my wake and bake so hope everything makes sense. I'll update with some pictures soon (been 1 week since I flipped lights to 12/12)

LOL Was apparently pretty optimistic (and high) yesterday - turns out I have 3 confirmed SSH females - White Berry and Blue Dream x Convict Kush turned out to be males. Hopefully some of these seeds/babies I have (chocolate chunky munky, BD x CK, WB) will turn out to be female. I'd like to have a female of each strain if possible. At least with the 3 SSH I have at least 2 different phenotypes - one more indica (guessing this is the Unknown genetics coming out - seeing some bushy 11 finger leaves!) Other phenotype is definitely more sativa with really skinny fingered leaves. I have supercropped 2 of the SSH's and 1 has taken especially well to it (indica pheno), lots of lateral growth coming upwards I transplanted the Indica Pheno SSH to a 5gal grow bag and watered her in, can't wait to watch her really take off now.

BTW, my gf picked up these awesome grow room glasses at the SF Indoor Garden Expo - they're called "LUMii" and they are blue tinted glasses so when you are fucking with your plants under your HPS, the blue cancels the red/orange light and it looks like daylight. I hold these up to my camera phone and it seems to work good for the pictures, too. Not sure how much they cost because we got them for free but they are really cool - really reduces glare and brightness and gets rid of that orange hue

START OF 12/12 WEEK 3



Hey everybody, things are looking great in the tent, most of the plants have shown their sex and started blooming - I still have a couple White Berries holding out on me (no sex visible yet) and 4 seedlings that I am experimenting with 12/12 from seed.

So, let's get started with updates and pics!

# Here's a picture of the Chocolate Chunky Munky and Blue Dream x Convict Kush babies prior to transplant (this was taken a few days ago, I transplanted these babies this morning, pics further down in the post)


# Next, my favorite plant (so far) - Super Silver Haze (x Unknown) with the Indica pheno/genotype. This plant has great vigor, structure, smell, and I know its gonna be a huge yielder. I have supercropped it a couple times while it was still in veg, now that it is flowering I am doing LST and the plant is loving it. Look at all those lateral branches that are going to be getting much more light! I do have a screen for doing a Screen of Green but I haven't put it in the tent to see if it fits - I'm thinking this run I might just leave out the screen and just LST most/all the plants and see how it turns out. In the 3rd pic, you can see where I supercropped and LST'd the plant. 4th pic is of another 11 finger leaf - I love seeing these, makes me think my plant is happy as a pig in poo poo (is there any truth to this? I've heard less fingers - like 3 - can mean your plant is kinda stressed. true/false?)


# Up next, my autoflowering Kush Van Stitch (Lowryder 2 x OG Kush) - this is really starting to look and smell great. Even though it has been switched to 12/12 lighting (18/6 or 20/4 recommended for autoflower but I didn't want to veg my regular plants too long - I know these SSH plants are going to really blow up) it is still doing good. Resin production is looking great, starting to see some cloudy trichomes (assuming, I don't have a pocket microscope and I don't think I will be using one - I believe in harvesting the bud when its "done", not based on time or how some of the trichomes look). Hairs are also turning red/orange and receding..it's starting to look (and smell) like real bud! This will be the first plant I have grown to harvest and I am really looking forward to the harvest, cure, and smoke - so excited to smoke some buds that I grew myself!

And lastly, the LUMii glasses I mentioned in my last post. These are fucking awesome - I hold them up to my camera phone to take pics in the tent and it totally cancels that red/orange HPS spectrum. I also just wear them when I'm fucking with my plants because they reduce glare from the light as well. I'm not getting paid to plug these, I just think they're a cool and useful product (I used to wear sunglasses occasionally when working in my tent and these are WAAY better). Got mine for free at SF Indoor Garden Expo so not sure how much they cost.

Shit is poppin' off in the tent, I'll update with pics soon. Took some clones from the 2 diff SSH's and they rooted great, waiting on all other strain cuttings to root - I've some in peat starters (SSH rooted in peat) and just took some new cuttings and am trying my luck with rockwool because it seems the other plants are either taking a really long time to root (none of them have showed roots through the peat starter) or they're not going to root. They were a few weeks into flowering when I cut them so they are obviously going to take longer but it seems like its been about 2 weeks and I haven't seen any roots pop thru but I think I have noticed some growth so I might toss them in some soil and see what happens.

Haven't updated recently but here's whats been going on.

Blue Dream x Convict Kush - doesn't look that impressive here but in just a week, it has really swollen up and frosted up. It is the frostiest of my plants now and thinking it might be my favorite in the tent as of now. Yield is looking great, bud structure is beautiful..yum


White Berry - The nug:leaf ratio on this plant is great - huge nugs with not many leafs sticking out, will make for a nice easy trim job. The WB hasn't frosted up quite like the BDxCK but it smells fucking amazing and the yield is looking pretty good.


Bastard Haze - Not too impressed with this yet, hasn't frosted up or swelled up that much. It just recently got repositioned in the tent to give my other plants optimal lighting. This is also looking sativa dominant and probably gonna take 10 weeks or more to finish - hopefully these popcorn nugs will swell up.



Bastard Bubba - This strain has done well. Pretty small squat plants, but nice trich coverage and bud development. Yield could be a little better I think and haven't noticed a real strong smell yet, hoping for a peppery indica smell. Thinking I'll probably be pulling these in another week or two.

WEEK 7:


Blue Dream x Convict Kush - These pictures don't do it justice but these are some bad bitches. I'll get some close ups of the trichs in my next update but these babies are getting COVERED in trichomes! The smell is amazing too - real glad I took clones of these.


White Berry - Nugging up real nicely, hopefully only another week or two left. Need to get some sticks to support the buds soon lol


Bastard Haze - It is what it is, looks like I might pull a decent amount off this one but it doesn't look like anything too impressive. This will probably be my blunt/joint weed haha


Bastard Bubba - Doing good, my small Bubba in a 1gal smartpot seems pretty close to being harvested, maybe a week left on it.

Anybody have any advice for harvesting? I've read so many differing opinions (give 24hr darkness, 48hr darkness, darkness doesn't matter, changing to MH bulb, etc - all kinds of shit) - I've always just waited until the soil/plant is a little more dry (so not right after watering/feeding) and just chop. Should I be doing something different or is it just opinion/preference?

Yeah I flushed for a week minimum, must got a 2 week flush. I've chopped everything except the haze and 1 blue convict in the tent and my outdoor hazes are still growing too obviously.

Totals (prob a lil less still bc theres still a lil moisture but general idea)
Bubba: 9.7g (2 small plants, 1g and 5g pots but didnt veg long, great bud tho)
White berry: 31.5g (1 plant in 5gal)
Blue convict: 20.6g (1 plant in 3gal, her twin is gettin chopped soon, this strain is fucking awesome)

Still have another couple oz's coming from the remaining plants so im pretty happy with my first successful grow and harvest. I'll get some pics of the buds when they finish.
