Good morning gents!
Well, after months of reading and building, my time is finally here! My first pc grow - well, first grow ever!

I've just finished germinating my seeds and I'm afraid they didn't take. I soaked them in water for 24 he's, still didnt see a tail. Put them in paper towel and baggy over night and I can see the shell on one crack off. I just put them into case with 3 43w 6500k cfl and on an 18/6 cycle.
Ill load some pics when I get to a pc.

Wish me luck!

Patience, young Skywalker! First time jitters can make you do silly things. Rule number one with plants, they work slowly don't expect them to just jump outta there and become dank in an instant!!
Your beans should be fine man, the first soak is enough to get them going, no guarantees they'll show taproots at that point (I've NEVER seen a seedling tap-root outside the soil they always go in before that happens. If after 10 days there is still nothing and you kept them adequately moist, THEN worry mate ;)
Just one thing with those CFL's... MAKE SURE THEY'RE CLOSE ENOUGH! Stretchy seedlings are bad news indeed, I tried CFL for the first time now and it was DISASTROUS being used to good ol' HID. The new ones are starting under a 600w, no more fucking around to save a few bucks. I love my 600's and know them intimately well should never have done anything but 'tried and trusted' methods. Dumb mistake on my part...

Thanks man. I think you're the first person that I read whom said not to worry about not seeing taproots.
Right now I'm about 3 to 4 inches away, I might get someone at home to throw a few more DVDs under the cups.
To start I used two tbsp of bottled water. Hopefully that will be good until I get home. Ill post pics shortly. I can't seem o figure it out from the mobile site.

Hey guys .. I'm sorry for the turned around pics, I'm really not sure how that happened, I've tried to edit and flip but nothing happens.
Here is my set up .. all criticism is accepted.
I was thinking of putting baggies over my cups to collect water and drop it back on and maybe keep the air inside the cup a little more humid. Any thoughts - suggestions?

Good morning!
Well last night was the first night in darkness, when I woke up to check on them I was terrified that my lights had been out for longer than 6hrs (I'm on 18/6 schedual). Not sure how long they were our for but I need to rethink my setup. If the lights wasn't a fear, the temp was - it was 66 degrees in there! I hope it wasn't too cold for my seeds! Any feedback?

I watered them with about tbsp of bottled water, let's hope that the girls survived!

Any advise from the pros?
