First grow and getting small buds

Glad I found this forum! This is my first grow with some help of an experienced grower. The plants have been very healthy and look great. So, no complaints there. But, I am now on day 47 of flower and my buds seems small IMO. I am growing C99, which is the best plant by far and I am satisfied with that one. The other 2 are Critical+ and BB+WW. These are healthy looking but still seem "behind" as far as bud size.

Forgive me but I don't know all the technical names. I topped the Critical+ and BB+WW at 33 days into vegetation. I didn't top the C99 as it had two main dominant stalks.

The plan was to switch to a HPS light at flower, but after doing research I decided to stick with the CMH bulb for various reasons. It is a 400W light in a 3x3x5 tent. I saw several threads where people got some big buds using s CMH.

I started feeding aggressively a little late as I read that over-feeding is a common mistake. So, that may have come into play a bit.

I am hoping that they may need a longer flowering time because of the CMH bulb? If not, I am welcome to any opinions as to what I may have done wrong for the next round. Or if there is anything I can do as I hit the home stretch of this run?

First pic is all 3 plants on the tent, second is a C99 bud and third is a Critical+ bud. The pic of the BB+WW didn't turn out, but they are the smallest.

Size of buds can be affected by genetics ...so all plants don't grow big buds
Large buds are typically indicas and grown in Hydro or coco

Yoa have several weeks to go and that is when bud swell occurs, have you given them any PK boost or sweetner such as molasses?

Buy the HPS and the make it the highest wattage you can. Use it immediately. No bud booster can help that much so save your money for the light.

I have a 400W HPS and I believe that is the highest wattage my ballast can handle. I tried it just before flower and I couldn't keep the heat down without moving a lot of air(pretty small tent). Moving more air helped but the my humidity plummeted and the temps were still a little high. Plants looked like crap within 36 hours so I researched the CMH bulbs and decided to stick with it.

If I have several weeks left I may be satisfied for my first grow. My magnifying glass will be here Thursday to inspect closer.

I have not tried any additional PK boost, etc.

Thanks for all of the replies. I think one mistake I made was not bringing enough fresh air into the tent?

Hoping I still have 2-3 weeks and they can pack on some size. :hump:

depending on the breeder of the c99 it will affect the yield. True c99 from brothers Grimm yields well fast
