Hello all, This is my very first grow, ive been reading up on this site for a couple weeks so hopefully i got the basics. Its in my room in a cabinet i have. Ive got 4 26w Daylight 6700K CFL and 1 30w 3500K CFL. There is also an 18" flour tube in there. It is lined with mylar wrapping paper. I have a 4 inch diametre hole in the top back left corner and a same size hole in the bottom back right side. The fan blows air right in there and the plants are moving and i can feel the cool air comin out the top. The temp is ranging from 82-86 during the day and about 75 at night. I have a single plant in one pot and three in another. Is it okay to have the 3 in one pot or is that too many? Its an 8 quart pot. Lights are running at 18/6. I attempted to fem 2 of the plants, the one by itsself and the one in the middle of the three....so well see what happens. This is my first grow and ive already had a problem with either overwatering or too much superthrive beacuse they started to droop really bad but i havent watered in almost 3 days and they are lookng better.

Do i need more lights?

Should i keep all three in that one pot?

How much water should i put in the 8 quart pot when i water and how much superthrive? How often should i give the superthrve at this point. Im using MG organic Soil.

Please let me know what you think of my setup. Any suggestions are very appreciated.

I am at DAY 13 since sprouting.

As small as they are...they are pretty stinky....i opened the cabinet this afternoon and got a big wiff of stankyness

I will be doing updates every 5 days and posting new pics.

its looking good, but you wanna get those lights a little closer. looks like your plants are starting to stretch.
usualy 1-2 inches above your plants for CFLs

The plants are doing well and growing fast. They sometimes droop and sometimes perk back up. Im thinking i am not giving enough water. I read the most common newbie mistake is overwatering so i was skeptikal on how much water i should give so i got to thinking and the amount im giving is probably only wetting halfway down. I watered them a few min ago until a small amount of water drained out of the bottom. Did i overwater? Should i be giving more nutes to them? I am watering with water from tap that has been sitting outside for days. There is also 1 drop of superthrive in the water. My medium's nutes are rated at .1/.05/.05.

Heres some pics i took about 5 min ago.

I've read that some times the plants will move their leafs to find light or to get less light if they don't need as much

UPDATE DAY 16

I just re-potted my plants and only kept two. The roots were tangled together due to three in same pot. I managed to get them apart but i know they are stressing right now. Should i switch to leaving the lights on longer? The lights will only be on for 2 1/2 more hours and have only had about 7 since re-potted.

Okay, so i repotted them and only kept 2. The roots were tangled BAAAD. I tried my best to not touch roots or break any but i could def feel and hear the lil ones breaking. I did this yesterday at 5. They seem a lil droopy and the leaves are curling slightly. After i re-potted them i watered them more then normal with a ll more SUPERTHRIVE. They wer under the lights for about 7 1/2 hours and then went to sleep for 8 and have been under the lights since 630 am this morning. They seem to be doing well. I would assume they would be dead already or showing more extreme sign that they are dying by now and did notice some new growth on the underneath so i thyink they are okay

Heres some pics and you can tell me what you think.

Thanks

Hello all. The plants are doing well i assume. I have not watered them in about 5 days. Im so tempted to water them.....the soil looks so dry and crusty on the top but if i stick my finger down almost to the bottom then it does feel somewhat moist. Ive heard it not good to let them fully dry aout then water because it will stress them. I thyink i will give them some water monday morning.

Is it too early for nutes? I plan on throwing them to 12/12 on July 20th.

Heres the pics. I have noticed that some of the larger fan leaves are slightly showing some yellowing....very very very slightly though. Im not sure if they need water or some nutes. Those two small round leaves on the stem are about to fall off. Since the plant used all those nutes, is that a sign i need to give more? They grew alot one day while i was work and they touched the light s a little bit.....hence the burnt spots on some of the leaves.

i just dont know when i should water again and when i should add nutes????

i heard if you let your soil dry out a little, it encourages the roots to grow in "search" of more water. it also makes sure air can get down to the roots too.
as for the yellowing, its either too much fert, or not enough. but truthfully, from the first pic, you cant even notice it. remember, KISS when growing, keep it simple stupid. if you're plants are growing and looking good, dont try and fix anything. just keep a good eye on it and listen to the plant, so to speak.
