aight.

you might want to look into the non-green color for the stems... sure it looks cool.. but it might be a sign of an issue. Are you using any nutes when you water?
nah. i wasnt thinking it looked cool. i was concerned. and still am. the purpling continues on the old leaf stems but on all new growth its a nice green.

im actually having some concern. notice curling leaves and the already existing purpling stems. two problems i plan on looking into shortly.

pic 1 shows the curling. it could be alot worse but no need to wait til it gets worse. so ima take care of it. this is what happens when you leave for a few days and have your mom watch your plant.

im always really curious about how young sex signs can show. i havent started flowering or anything and im seeing what look like little hairs, though they look different from pistils. see pic 2.

any advice and help if greatly welcome and appreciated.

i found out what is causing the curling of the leaves and the purpling. its most likely a phosphorous deff. so ima head to home depot later and get some phosphate.

Sorry to disappoint you, but those things you circled are called 'stipules' and every plant has them. The pre-flowers come out next to them almost between the branch and the stem. See the picture below...

just checking ouit the grow
i'm doing my first grow with floros
even flowering, and they're doing fine (even with how much i tend to fuck 'em up)

i was wondering though, are you going to top anytime soon? keep the plant a bit squatter so that the floros won't have to penetrate the foliage ya know?
j/w

best of luck!!!!

yea im going to top as soon as about two more nodes come out. and then i plan on cloning the top. that way if it happens to be female, ill have two plants from a top that i woulda tossed out normally.

Im also transplanting within the next couple of days so it should all be good. :]

today its looking nice. alot of new growth. the curling is going away somewhat. i think it was because of the nutrients. :]

it now measures 8 1/4" exact. or 21 cm.

some of the leaves till have a wierd ripple or ugly look the them. but its only the oldest leaves. i hope theyre not dying.

any advice is wanted and needed.

i plan on topping as soon as i go get the rockwool cubes and root hormone so i can clone the top. wish me luck.

AHH. im sorry to all who have been actually taking the time to read this.

ive been away and doing alot of other things and havent had time to post pics and stuff. ehh atleast i had time to take care of my baby.

heres the best pic i could get today without moving her.

I transplanted on friday into what i believe is a two gallon pot. i watered and added fish emulsions. I was sure the shock of a transplant was gonna stunt growth for a while but when i came back today after being away all weeked, i was shocked.

she(wishful thinking again :]) was touching the lights and had grown out a whole node and was working on another one. its about 12" tall now. with good green growth.

was craving water when i came back and it shows on some of the tips. DAMN YOU GLOBAL WARMING!!!!

anyways, hope you enjoy, and wish me luck.

okay so ive had to do some major trimming for light penetration. no worries though and dont go off and say im stupid for doing it, it had the be done and the leaves werent looking too amazing anyways.

anyways a few pluses and a few minuses in this update.

pic 1 shows the amazing new growth and where its been trimmed. its somewhat over a foot tall now.

pic 2 shows what i am sure are the itty bitty beginnings of preflowers. confirmation would be appreciated. the purpling of the stems is getting worse. it got better with some nutes but progressively in back in action.

pics 2 and 3 are my HUGE MAJOR concern. wtf is this. any input is needed asap. everywhere i read says its a potassium deff so confirmation on this would also be appreciated.

so i know for a fact i have some nute deffs. going on. any input on exactly which ones or confirmation its potassium and phosphate would be amazing.

PLEASE HELP!!

THANKS

So if someone could please help me out with my problem, it would be really nice.

i plan on going into flowering within the week and then topping when the sex is confirmed but i need to get the kinks worked out first, and your input, no matter how minute, would be greatly appreciated.

please and thanks.

it looked like you had bugs, but you probably wouldn't have asked if that were the case. Your leaves look healthy I think... change your approach and see how they respond. Also, check out the FAQ--if you haven't already--on nutrient deficiencies. Lot of good info there

what are the chances that you are getting water with nutes on the leaf???
i think that might be a possibility.

the leaves with the spots were lower on the plant and couldve possibly got nuted water on them during a watering.

i know i occasionally mist the leaves with a spray bottle of unnuted water especially during the roasting days.

it seems to help avoid any excessive dryness or dead leaves.

Yup. Your plants are fine. The second pic' looks like a fem' preflower.

Def' a bit of nute burn from when you poured the water. Everybody that waters from the top is going to get a bit of nute splash now and again.

^^This guy never ceases to amaze me in how much he knows (forgive me if ur a girl but damn ur knowledge is off the hook) +rep

hopefully ur right about the preflowers, I had 2 plants that had the exact same looking preflowers and they turned out females as well.

But yea, the spots on the leaves arent a major concern, and IMO from the looks of things the purple/red stems arent slowing the growth down a bit so I wouldnt worry about it either.

And if you're gonna use Fluoros the whole way thru then U might wanna consider switching to flower sometime soon, U should see sex within a week or so. But you should think about topping and cloning before you switch the lights, bcuz from my experience Ive found that the plants stretch a lot when U go into flowering and its best if U top before the stretch so the nodes will be a lot closer and the stretching will be kept to a minimum. The clones will root from a couple days to a week or 2 faster if U take them during vegg.

Besides that your doing great, keep listening to the advice these guys are giving you and you should be on your way to a bountiful harvest.

Good luck with the rest of the grow, and Im hoping for a female for you.
