Alright so this is my first grow and i decided to do it in the closet naturally...

Setup:
4 x 40watt T12 Flouro (6500K) = 2325 Lumens Each
5 x 27watt CFL (6500K) = 1300 Lumens Each
295 Watts Total and 15,800 Lumens all @ 6500K for Veging

Mixed soil with some Perlite to help drainage, soil is Scotts 7-1-3 time release (didnt realize it was time release until afterward but at least its heavy in N and plants seem to like it)

11/13/08 Started Germinating
11/15/08 Planted Seeds
11/17/08 Sprouted Leaves
11/22/08 Sprouted 2nd set of leaves

Week 2 and a few days (and wow are they getting bushy!!)

As you can see they are growing real strong I am pretty happy. The farthest on the left and the smallest of the 3 was originally in the pot with one of the others and I transplanted him so he is a few days behind.

I am really liking the setup, I used tension rods and chains for the 4 foot Flouro's so i can move it up the chain or just move the tension rod. The CFL's are all in the clip on desklights so i can move them around and move the tension rod up that they are on as they grow.

The idea was to make it portable so in case I needed to move them or hide everything quickly I can (i rent).

looks good man. i'm growin one bagseed under cfl but mine aren't lookin as good as yours.

Are you plannin on goin with red spec cfls for flowering or are you gonna go hps??
I am gonna stick with the cfls for flowering because of the heat and energy costs. I also rent so i got a stealth grow goin on.

I was going to go with the 2700K CFL's, i saw 65watt ones at lowes that put out like 4k lumens each. I found a 400W HPS that also comes with a MH conversion bulb that works with the same ballast for $160 so i was thinkin about doing that.

The bud I got these seeds from was pretty good so I'm hoping these turn out decent. There were only 4 seeds in the entire bag and I think it was a half ounce and I got 3 to germinate using the paper towel method.

My VERY first grow was a couple months before these and I didnt do any reading, i just put it ina pot and put a grow light from walmart on it like 5 feet away rofl. It got like a foot tall with two tiny little leaves, was some hardcore stretching. I been soaking in everything I can about growing and I'm feeling pretty confident about these.

How big should I let them get before i transplant them into bigger pots? The buckets I got them in are like 3/4 of a gallon.

So its week 3 and I got them transplanted into 6 gallon containers a couple days ago. They seemed to perk right up and started growing immediately, i think they were slowly because of the size of their old pots.

#3 still has what i think is nute burn but its only on a few of the leaves towards the bottom.

Well a day into week 6 here's some new pics, i also got a new lighting system from htgsupply.com and its up and operational.

Got a thread started with all the details here...

So anyway, plant 1 who was the runt has overtaken plant 3 who was my early pick to be the biggest of the 3. Plant 2 is just killing the other 2, she's just growing bigger and bushier even when I took her 2 close cfl's and put them on the other 2.

I pulled them out today and topped them off with soil since it slowly compacts and gets washed around with the water to the point where the roots are sticking out on some.

I turned the light off and checked how good my seal is for flowering, its pretty much pitch black in the closet so I am going to start flowering today with the HPS.
