First amber trichs & going away for 5days

What's up people!

I inspected my girls and was stoked to see one of them is showing her first amber!

But the thing is, I won't be home till next weekend, and I don't know how fast the amber usually spread.

I can only see a few right now, maybe 3 to 5% amber. But I would like to avoid going over 25 to 30% amber as it's already supposed to be a heavy indica.
How long do you think I have before harvest?
Do you think I'lI be ok or will I go home to see 50+% amber?

Hard to say, but they won't be 50%. If I was worried they might get to amber I would chop now, trim, and hang. They'll be about ready to start curing when you get back.

I'm more worried about ripeness than having it ready to cure when I get back :)
I really want to flush it all the way and do things as good as I can so I'm not too fond of harvesting right now.
I see a couple of white pistils that could use that time to swell.
But I didn't mention that my brother could harvest when I'm away.
I'm just wondering if they'd be ruined by next weekend.
But apparently not so that's great news!

You should already be working on leeching the nitrogen out of the plant, by watering with plain water. You could also do a flush.

Some trichomes change way before some of the others. I would look more at how many are milky. If you've got a mix of clear and milky, you should be fine. If your getting more of a mix of milky and amber, you'll want to start thinking about harvesting.

Curing starts at the beginning of the drying process. After dried properly (twig break test), then you jar them up and incrementally shake and burp the jars until cured all the way.

I've been flushing for 2 or 3 days and the leaves are starting to fade. I think it's gonna be nicely flushed in a few days.
they are mostly milky and the amber started popping out not long ago at all so I know I'll be harvesting next weekend MAX
It's clearly in the harvest window, but ideally I'd want the flush to be complete and the last few calyxes to swell. That's my dilemma lol
I want to maximize the work I've done so far but avoid ruining it by being greedy!

I'll probably leave it two more days, then ask my brother to give it 48h of darkness and chop
kinda heartbreaking not being the one to cut my baby but hey, Peak ripeness or nothing!

The "48 hrs of darkness" is an old-wives tale. I wouldn't even bother. In fact, all you can do at this point is sit back and let her do it's thing. See, there's no way anyone can tell if there's a slight advantage to turning the lights off because there are so many other variables. There will be plenty of things you'lll find unnecessary as you continue to grow. It'll free up some of your time. :)

yeah I don't really have high expectations regarding this! pun not intended
Placebo sure is a powerful thing!

I don't do it but:
Bricktop posted a scientific study that concluded that 72hrs of darkness is ideal.
Which makes some sense as growers have always said to harvest before lights on...Well before any scientist's tests.

Could always feed it and let it finish....Who convinced u to starve ur plant mid flower?

Yeah I could never get my head around that one either.

I don't know what gave you the idea I was starving my plants mid flower?
They're finishing up and I'm just doing the final flush
no way it's mid flower after more than 50days
But yeah, I'll try to leave it in darkness just to see for myself.
