Firefox/Connection help.......please?!

Ok. I've been using chrome for a while now - its ok, they need to hurry TFU with some add-ons though.

I used to connect with a sprint mobile broadband card - which are awesome if your lucky enough to live in the coverage area. Not quite quick enough for downloading torrents though.

Anyway, I got a new phone, and a new provider so I ditched my broadband card, and got the cable broadband.

Ever since, I can't connect with Firefox. Wait, I can connect. Except every 3 seconds I get a prompt asking me how I want to connect to the internet - I hit cancel - the page loads. Repeat every 3 seconds.

What I think is weird is when I try to add a new connection - I can't add a LAN.

I get error code 678. Firefox tries to connect through the WAN Miniport (PPPOE). When I click on network connections, I see that the Local Area Network is connected.

How can I configure firefox to connect through the LAN? Or generally, how can i fix this?

I'm on a laptop if that helps.

I want firefox back. I'm done with chrome. Its a good browser, its just plain.
