Finishing ahead of schedule?

I have four clones I took from two moms (two from each), and basing on the moms' grow, figured they'd be ready sometime late next week. They have mostly amber trichs, the white hairs have receded, and the calyxes have fattened up (not nearly as much as I would have liked). One of the moms I harvested too soon, and I want to avoid that.

I don't have any up-to-the-minute pics right now, but should I just say, "It's a different grow", and go ahead and harvest? would harvesting too late be as bad as harvesting too early?

too early is way worse than later ime.. i'd much rather wait and make sure they're ready, then to chop only to find out i could have waited a lil more..

Yeah, that's what my feeling is. I burned myself with one of the moms, and was really kicking myself when I saw how much more I got from her sister.

I would go with its a different grow. Clones are as old as the mother, it stands to reason they would complete slightly early. Tricoms don't lie, if they are mostly amber, I feel you're past prime. You will get more bud if you grow longer, but quality il reduce IMO.

I looked them over this morning with a critical eye, and realized I was influenced by two or three buds that were further along than the rest. They do look like they'll be ready in a couple of days, rather than a week, so they are still indeed ahead of schedule, just not as much as I had hoped. Wishful thinking.
