Finished attic intake/exhaust questions.

Hey guys. My space is in a finished attic and I'm currently running a tent. In the future I may frame up a small grow room. Anyhow, the attic has 2 windows on opposite sides. Currently I have one window cracked with a standard box fan acting as a fresh air intake. The other window is also half opened and I have my 8" flex ducting running just beneath the window ledge pointed up.

I hate that I have these persistently open windows so I wanted to get your feedback on a longer term, more discreet setup. Currently a knee-wall is knocked out from our HVAC upgrade so I have direct access to both the roof itself and the eaves. The eaves are perforated vinyl. I was thinking I could create a roof vent to serve as an exhaust while creating an intake on the eve.

The main concern I have is currently the inside temps are heavily impacted by our current HVAC system because the incoming fresh air is mixed with whatever our system is providing. We are in an area where temps drop to single digits throughout the winter. Actually two years ago we hit -6. I'm running LEDs so I don't think they alone would provide anywhere near sufficient heat to combat those temps.

So should I just say f' it and stick with the windows acting as my intake/exhaust with HVAC being the buffer or pursue a more permanent/direct setup?

Thanks in advance!
