FINALLY have my veg/flower rooms put together BUT are my seedlings ready...?

First of all HELLO!! Nice to finally join the community here, been long over due!

Alright so here is what I've done so far:
Germinated five AK47 seeds one week ago today (Soaked rockwool cubes in 5.5ph water with 1/5th strength nutrients for 1 hour before germinating, placed in large humidity tray/dome).
They have been under 18 hours of light (one large spiral bulb, prob 125w). The light is about 1 foot from the top of the the little sprouts. Two of them poped 24 hours after germination and have taken off! There 2.5 inches tall! The other three are 1.5 inch tall (they poped 48-72 hours after germination).
BUT all of them have roots coming out of the 1 inch rockwool cubes!!

Sooo..
1. Am I stretching them out?? .. 2.5 inches seems really tall for only having germinated one week ago, should I lower the light or add more light?

2. Since they all have roots now should I put them into my hydroponic drip system now?? Once again one week seems really quick to already throw them into my hydro system.
Also should I give them nutrients if I do put them into the system? Maybe half or 1/4th strength? Right now Ive just be misting them with 5.5ph water with no added nutrients.

Welcome to RIU! Looks like you're ready to roll... Get those babies into hydro. I don't do hydro, you will want to put in an amount of nutrents, but I don't know what you need to start - probably a diluted amount of the normal feeding. They are growing as they should - once you get them into water they will settle in and grow well - fingers crossed! Get your ventilation and exhaust worked out asap...

Alright! I got rid of the small light I had on them and tuned on four T5 CFLs (4 foot length) and lowered them right over the dome. I also turned on four older T8 fluorescence but kept them higher up just to fill the room with light.

Tomorrow I will mix 1/4th strength nutrients to my res and set up my girls with 24 hour drippers... I could time them but I think the small rockwool cube with all the hydrogen will drian well enough to support 24 hours

Its funny you mention ventilation because I just finished it today! Had to snake a large fixable vent pipe threw my room to the window above my bed.... :bigjoint:

DSCN1027.JPG DSCN1028.JPG You will hear "More light is better" from a lot of good sources. If you have the money to spend on a lot of light you can't go wrong. I'm watching my electric bill closer now that I'm retired and on a tighter budget. At this time I'm growing these plants with 2 - 400 watt metal hylide and 2 little CFL bulbs. When the room is full I'll go to 3 - 400 watt MH - Then 3 to 4 K HPS for flowering.

The plants would grow faster with 3K MH going, but not that much faster to be worth the extra money on light.

The little guys will stretch more with less light. You could cut down on some of your light at this time and they will be fine.
