Hello, I live in Ontario Canada. I have no arms (I do everything with my feet), a permanently dislocated left hip and scoliosis which half my spine is fused when I was 15, and now the lower is curving and in constant pain. I take a lot of pain killers, oxycodon. I smoke pot to help relieve some of the pain, mainly in my joints since I use my right leg for everything I'm sure its arthritic now. Also I get a weird pain in the pit of my stomach that shoots out through my entire body and it doesn't go away until I have a toke and it immediately goes away.

My family doc is older and closed minded and refuses to sign the medicinal form, he doesn't even like prescribing the oxy's. after 2 years looking for other doctors I finally found 1 whom is a rehability doc for people who've been in accidents. my disability was from birth but this doctor was willing to take me on as a patient and is very understanding what I'm going through and without hesitation he was willing to sign the medicinal forms. THANK JEBUS!

Hi, Malester ...

So, what's up with the "family" doc? He doesn't sound like anyone I'd want my "family" going to. *lol*

So, here's a guy with no arms and in constant pain who tells his doc that MJ acts like a miracle drug ... and the doc says NO!?? I bet it would be a LOT different if the pain you're experiencing was HIS pain instead.

Well the thing is, hes been my family doc from birth, has been my dads family doc from birth and good friends with my grandparents, Also he's less than 5 minutes from my house. Since Canadian health care is public, its very hard to find new doctors willing to take on another patient especially when its about narcotics. I've called many doc offices telling them my situation and that my doctor says hes not as qualified to deal with pain management, and as soon as you mention drugs its almost like a door slamming shut in your face. This new doc I'm seeing isnt a family doc, and is definitely more qualified since this is more his area.

Medicinal Marijuana in the US is only legal in states that have legalized it's medical use. Check out the NORML website for laws for your state.

The War on Drugs is really a war on the people, including doctors. The Docs are so paranoid of losing their medical practices if they "over" prescribe pain medications. It shouldn't be government bureaucrats who determine doses, it should be between patient and doctor.
