Final house payment!!!!

I just made my final house payment!!!!!! I bought this house 15years ago. 2000sqft w/full basement & detached 2 1/2 car garage. I just set-up auto pay for the taxes & ins: $313 a month! I do have a small equity credit line on it, but no 1st mortgage.....Whoo Hooo!!!! Now I'm really retired.........current value approx. $335,000..........Now if I could just hit the lottery........

just curious... what was it worth 15 years ago??? did ya make some killer profit?? seems hard not to make money nowadays with homes.

$140,000........no 'profit' until I sell it. It's all equity........

California is fucked. That house would go for 145k here tops.

I own mine free and clear with a 25k heloc for emergency.

If you get a 10+ mortgage, you aint making no money. Just as much in interest as the principal.

Congrats on 1 less payment.

Edit, if you only paid 140k you'll make some money if you get the assessed price.

It's in a very nice neighborhood in Sacramento. It would be worth a lot less, just a few miles away.......

Anyone paying a mortgage should look into refinancing.
If I had 3.5-4.5% interest, I would have saved about $300 a month for over 10 years. :shock:

Thats awsome im 25 with a 1 year old and fiancee still renting dreaming of the day i own my own place ...not wishing life away but im sure its a great feeling never worrying about paying ffor somewhere to live nemore... hopefully i took you back a little ;-)

I built my first house when I was 23, but it was a log home......your old enough....just do it.....
